American Apparel

Sorry I haven't blogged in such a long time. I've just been really busy. I really don't even have time to be writing this post, but I am. So here it is. American Apparel is a source that quite a few of my readers have been telling me to write about for a long time. So here I am writing about it. Also many (and not just the ones that posted comments) readers have told me that they are a better alternative to aussiebum (they say that they are cheaper and nicer). I personally have not tried these briefs out for myself but since so many people seem to be raving about them I thought that I'd mention them, because with that many fans they got to be good. American Apparel seems to only make one style of underwear, the "baby rib brief". Here's what they say about them: "Our version of the traditional brief in untraditional colors. Baby rib cotton body; Baby rib cotton leg openings; Fine jersey front panel binding; Elastic waistband" They sound pretty nice and all for just 12 bucks. I suggest you try them out (I know I'm going to). And not only that but if you really dig them they come in 22 colors so you can always have a brief that will match whatever you happen to be wearing. I must say I'm pretty impressed, not just by the price but by how nice they look and what a wide variety of colors they are offered in. These are not your classic colors, they are some cool colors so check them out!

I've got pockets in my underpants!

That's right. I got pockets in my underpants and you can too. These seriously are real underpants, they are not really tight pants. I repeat these are real underpants. I saw these and I thought they were pretty cool so I just couldn't resist blogging about them. These sweet manties with pockets are made by a japanese men's clothing company called TOOT. TOOT makes tons of cool and unique clothes for guys, including these boxerbriefs with pockets. These boxerbriefs run around $30 bucks US (at current conversion) and can be found here. I just thought these were pretty cool so I decided to share them. I don't think the pockets could really be too useful but they make a cool statement. They are shown in grey but they also come in charcoal. I like the grey one the best because of the contrast between the navy and grey and the red waistband. These undies have no fly. Below are some other views. As you can see from the front they look like pretty normal undies but once your friends see the back they will always think of you as one of the most fashionable people around.

Question of the Day:
Would you use pockets in your underwear or would you just have them as a fashion statement? If you'd use them what would you use them for?

Undershirts that match

It's been the big thing in female undies to have matching bras and panties/thongs. So why can't men do the same? Well they can. Just slightly modified for the male physique. You can now find that many upscale brands make undershirts that go with briefs, boxerbriefs and boxers. Basically you can buy a 4 in 1 set that comes with three 7 different combinations of wear (each different bottom with top, each bottom without top, and top without bottom (if you're daring) ). This particular set which I am featuring is only a brief and a tank. But as you can see there are two combos. With (right), and without shirt (left).

Ok well there's technically three but I'm not going to show the without the briefs version because the site didn't either;)

Anyways these are sets. They match but they're a little more than matching. For instance if you were to wear a pair of white briefs with a white A-Shirt that would technically "match". But it doesn't really MATCH. If you get what I'm saying. Anyways this set can be found at Undergear.com. The tank can be found here for $25. And the brief can be found here for $17. Both the brief and the tank come in four colors (red, yellow, blue, and black) to suit your personality, style, and mood.

Poll of the Day:
Do you think about what underwear you wear or do you just grab whatever is clean? In other words do you try to match your underwear with your outfit and other undies or do you just pull anything on? Or is it a mix? Explain.

Super Briefs!

A new trend that we are seeing in men's underwear is novelty briefs and boxerbriefs. For a long time such things were only available as boxers and boys briefs. Now you can actually find men's character-like briefs. These briefs are pretty cool. Snaps to the manufacture for finally figuring out that men want to have fun undies too. These undies harken back to super heros with the Super Man insignia prominently placed on your bulge. But they also harken back to the tight clothing that super heros wear along with that little brief around the crotch area (it still is unclear to me why super heros dress that way (maybe they just wanted to show off their undies and/or package) ). This boxerbrief (above) especially reminds me of that type of outfit because of the way the legs are different color so it looks like the wearer is wearing briefs over boxerbriefs or tights. The boxerbriefs can be purchased here at DUGG for $14.41. They are also available in coloration of Boxerbrief as well as a Brief (both pictured below).

Poll of the Day:
Do you prefer to wear regular plain colored underwear or fun cartoony underwear?

Think Pink!

The in thing in men's fashion for a while has been the color pink. It's very hot and stylish right now. Just when I thought it couldn't go anywhere else it did. Now pink has expanded to everywhere in a man's wardrobe, even down to his underpants. Aussiebum just unleashed their new color of briefs, pink. Aussiebum has been a cutting-edge brand in men's underwear for a while and now they have gone and shown the world that pink undies is not just for little girls anymore. Click here for purchasing info (I hope the link works).

The only question left now is are you man enough to wear them?

Fun new things

Hey,
As you may notice I've done a few new things to the blog. First off there's a favicon of a pair of briefs that I've put on. Also I use the same image by the titles of all the posts. As you may notice removed the clock (because it only said my time and didn't benefit most of you) and replaced it with a image gallery. Currently there are just a few clipart images of underwear in it. They will randomly change every time you visit the page so if you reload the page you'll get a new image. Let me know what you think of all these new features and give me some suggestions for more. If you have any images to add to the little gallery send them to my e-mail (listed in the sidebar). Hope you like it.

National Underwear Day

"National Underwear Day is a time to share the wonder of undies, and celebrate what lies beneath. Leaders in the underwear industry have come together to help the founder of National Underwear Day, Freshpair.com, celebrate the event on August 10. (See www.nationalunderwearday.com.) Underwear-clad models will be placed throughout Midtown Manhattan with clipboards to poll passers-by on their preference of underwear, and collect signatures for official recognition of the day. C-IN2, a new men’s underwear brand, will have mobile changing stations set up through New York City. Free underwear, including some of our top-selling item, the C-IN2 sling, will be given to those willing to try it on. This product is unique to say the least, and was recently featured in Newsweek as the “wonderbrief.” (See www.freshpair.com.). 2(x)ist will have its own mobile unit, teaming up with the National Prostate Cancer Coalition to offer information on prostate cancer, and free underwear to anyone who pledges to have a cancer screening. Other industry sponsors include: RIPS, Natori, Le Mystere, Rago, Ginch Gonch, Male Power, Hugo Boss, Unico and Maidenform."

Wow, sounds like lots of fun. You get to party around New York in your undies. And hey, you can even get some free undies. Unfortunately this is only good if you live in New York (which I don't :( ). But hopefully enough signatures will be collected so it can become an official National holiday. So if you love undies and live in New York be sure not to miss out on the opportunity to spend a day parading in your underwear and getting free new undies. Remember it is on August 10th, so that's coming up really soon. If you don't live in New York you can still participate by adding your signature to the ever-growing list by clicking here. Also you can check out more photos from last year's event by going to my Flickr set here. So all in all it looks like it's going to be a great time for all new yorkers. I really wish I lived in New York at the moment (mainly for the chance to get some free undies, but also to parade around in them too) but alas, I do not. So if any of you are going to New York for the celebrations pick me up a pair of undies, if you have a chance (my waist is somewhere around 28). Thanks.

As previously mentioned, Hanes ARE in again!

So sorry not to have blogged in a while. Today I am going to share with you something I saw. I really wish I had a photo, but I don't so I will describe what I saw. Yesterday I was driving along in the passengers seat of the car when I saw a bike rider ahead of us. The rider was a guy and looked like he was very in on style and a bit obsessed with it too. Anyways he had blonde hair and was wearing a blue tank top under a black sweater like tank top. He was wearing white pants (I think that's what they were I can't really remember that part). And he had on a backpack. The rider was sagging such that a bit of skin could be seen between the bottom of his blue tank and his pants. Besides the skin he had the entire waistband of his Hanes briefs as well as about an inch and a half of the purple fabric that covered his ass clearly showing to all onlookers. It was quite a statement. And I must say it looked really good. This just goes to show that not only are Hanes decent again, but they are also very in and trendy as well.

Fraternities

I didn't join a frat when I went to college. The idea that you had to conform to a norm set by others before you who just wants to humiliate you didn't appeal to me. I did for a short moment in time, for about a week, considered joining a military academy, the Citadel of all places.

Coming across these underwear brought to mind thoughts of fraternity and what it was like to be part of a team, for me it was a Fencing team. It would have been pretty damn cool for my team to have our team badge on one of these jocks. For guys who are associated with army, navy, police, or FD, they can wear one of these proudly. The emblems and patches are somewhat generic but distinctly identifiable with their fraternity. The colors offered are quite nice. I secretly would like to be a part of the armed services just for the priviledge of wearing one. These aren't officially part of any uniform, so those of you who are secretly pinning to be in the club can play the role.

If you are just into the fashion, these CCCP logo'd ones are fab, and soon to be collectibles. ...maybe not.

The Patriot

What imageries come to mind when you think of fourth of July? Backyard Barbecue, parades, and of course the 'stars and stripes.' Every porch in America will have the USA flag waving in the wind on July 4th. You must be wondering what the connection is between underwear and the American flag.
Well, I'm not suggesting you wrap your tush with the Old Glory, that is sacrilegious in the highest order, but you can show off or hide your patriotism by getting your hands or more appropriately your bottom in one of these patriotic underwear. These come in all styles and by a variety of manufacturers.

Even the fashion designer Tommy Hillfiger has put out a couple of very tasteful renditions just in time for our nation's celebration. So get your butt in under-gear and don you red-white-blue. I will strut a pair of my own on this glorious holiday.

Undergear Swimsuits

Well, it's summer. For a lot of us, that means swimming is going to be a popular activity for the next few months. So I've checked out many different sites to find a new swimsuit, but it appears that undergear.com has what I'm looking for. They've got it all: from the boring everyday trunks to squarecuts and thongs. And I really wish I knew how to add a picture (but as I said before I'm not very good with computers), but you'll just have to remember these ones, and go to the site and check them out. [EDIT: Blue added a photo]

I'm specifically into the bikini/brief style swimwear. I think the Surfscape Bikini looks kinda cool, although I'm not sure if I'd want a picture of a surfer on my butt. Anyways you have to check out at least their whole selection of bikini swimwear, then check out whatever you want. I wish bikini swimwear was popular in the U.S. so that we wouldn't be put down all the time for what we wear, but that's life.

Question: Do you swim with underwear underneath your swimsuit? What kind (briefs, boxers, etc.)?
