CIN-2 Grip Jock Review

CIN-2 is hands down one of my favorite brands so it shouldn’t come as a surprise that I decided to review their Core Grip Jockstrap. 

This jock doesn’t look very similar to other styles, it has a different strap design and the pouch is contoured with side seams as opposed to a central seam found on many other styles of underwear. I find this front seam can be unflattering or distracting but these side seams flatter while also providing the same if not superior pouch contour and support as other brands.

This jock was definitely designed with the active guy in mind, it wicks away moisture and provides great support. The straps connect to the front pouch and I find this helps in keeping everything in the right place for the day. The downside to the fabric is that you can’t use a fabric softener while washing so you do require some extra care for this Jock.

While it is obvious this was made for the active guy, I’ve worn these for many different reasons. They’re great for warm summer days, running, and I’ve even worn these underneath a full suit on an active day. So consider this no matter your lifestyle.

An added bonus about this jock is that the Grip line is an ongoing collection by CIN-2, it is redone every once in a while in more colors keeping you up to date with new looks but the same quality. If you enjoy working out in style, you are going to have luck with this being available in many colors including a new season of colors that was just recently released. 

If you aren’t much of a jock kind of guy the Grip line is also available in other styles offering more coverage. This jock leaves very little to the imagination but the waist moves easily and adjusts nicely.

Discussing Skimpy Undies with Davey Wavey

Today YouTube celebrity Davey Wavey discusses undies. Specifically the difference between thongs and jockstraps and his personal preferences.  The video features Davey and his guest Stuart, an underwear model at Dead Good Undies.  Stuart prefers thongs while Davey prefers a jock.  So they decide to switch it up and go for a day on the town in the other one's "pants".  Check out their reasons for their preferences and their findings in this fun video above.  Also there's just some really fun, sexy undies featured in the video.

New Trend: Jock Boxers - Reviewed

Want to let your ass hang out this summer? Jockstraps have long been an option, but the sometimes tight straps and skimpy pouch don't always cut it. Enter the jock brief and jock boxer/trunk - you get the same bare feeling in the rear with a little more coverage up front.  Today I'm going to review the Addicted brand jock boxer.

These jock boxers come in a number of different stylish colors.  I tried the black one with a silver waistband - when your ass is hanging out you don't need to have lots of other things going on. They're rather simple in the front, they appear to be just a basic pair of trunks.  But then you turn around and BAM, surprise!  I really like the metallic silver waistband (which is only on the black pair). Although the graphic nature of the logo band is present on all the colors, which I really like.  The other pairs are more colorful and funky, with contrast piping.

As for the fit of these undies, in the front they fit very much like a regular pair of trunks.  Not too tight, but fitted.  The legs are not very long and line up with the bottom of the pouch. The pouch itself is a simple contour pouch; it's not very large but the fabric does stretch so it never feels too tight.  What I will say about the fit is the leg bands are made out of the same cotton fabric as the rest of the underwear, unlike a jockstrap's elastic straps.  This means that the pouch is not held as it would be in a jock, but the extra fabric on the sides is more than adequate to hold things in place.  If you do have larger balls and are sitting down, there is a potential for them to fall out the back a little bit; it depends on what you're wearing over the trunk and how tight it is.  Overall, I personally find these quite comfortable.  I barely even realized I'm wearing them. As with all ass-less underwear this is partly dependent on how comfortable/soft the jeans are that you wear.  The fabric of the actual underwear is also soft as is the waistband.  While not tagless like most underwear these days, the tag is placed on the right hip and goes unnoticed.

These hold up very well with repeated washings.  Definitely made out of quality materials with attention to all the details.  They are available from our friends at Vocla for $34, which is a reasonable price for a conversation piece like these.  Especially if you get them in a more colorful version.

Overall, I give the Addicted Jock Boxers a total score of 8 based on the following criteria:
FIT -- 9 (out of 10) - Basic trunk fit with a surprise in the back.  Small pouch and potential for larger balls to fall out.
COMFORT -- 10 (out of 10) - Comfortable fabric and waistband.  Forgot I was wearing them.
STYLE -- 8 (out of 10) - Depends on the color you buy.  Looks like a pair of fairly basic trunks until you turn around.  Great graphic waistband.
QUALITY -- 9 (out of 10) - Good materials, held up well.
VALUE -- 8 (out of 10) - Reasonable price for something so unique, but also a little spendy.

Something Blue...

What's your favorite color? Now look in your underwear drawer.... Do you notice a trend? My favorite color is blue along with more than half of the guys out there. I like the color blue because it's a cool color that makes you feel relaxed. I am a very relaxed boy anyway but blues are also great to express yourself. My shoes for instance, I have three pairs of converse that are three different shades of blue, my sheets blue, my phone case is blue, my computer case is blue, my car is blue... the list goes on... But, what about my undies?

Looking from my desk into my undies drawer I see a trend of mine is buying blue undies. Since it is my favorite color I tend to buy more of them because I know I would love the color. At least 2/3 of my undies have blue in them. Now when I go shopping for undies I am trying to get different colors that stand out, like pink. I just want my undies drawer to be more fun! I can't wear blue all the time! This is a blue safeTguard that I just got to fuel my new obsession with jocks. It came in so many colors and as always I ended up getting blue.... A Jock Review

Hey guys! I know its been a while, I’ve been super busy with soccer and senior stuff, so I haven’t had time to get online. So a few weeks ago I got this great, and when I say great I mean amazing, jock in the mail. Yeah guys, let me tell you I love this thing! So I know you’re asking who makes it, what is it, and where can I get it. Well first off, its from WildmanT, and let me say I love their stuff, and it’s the Micro-Jock. And believe me, it’s micro. This jock is by far my favorite jock I have ever had, I’ve worn it everywhere, and I still find myself wanting to wear it more. I’m actually wearing it right now! So let me set the scene, I’m a fairly average guy, I’m packing a fair amount, and I’m currently shaved except for the base of the dick. So the great thing about the jock is I get to show this all off, you wouldn’t believe the looks I get in the locker room. I’m straight and all they guys know that so we have a lot of fun with it. So the top of the jock rides right at the base of the dick, leaving some of the shaft exposed, (how hot is that?) and the straps are so small you can barely see them. I just wish you could see it, well actually there are pictures with this entry, so have fun with those. I found these on some site, the model is wearing the jock perfectly, might I add. Well I know that support and performance is really important to you guys. Just to tell you how great it is in these areas, I have worn this in soccer games, when I run, pretty much all the time, in jeans to the mall, and around the house with nothing else on at all! And let me tell you, the guys at WildmanT have made this one perfect.

Okay, so a few weeks ago I got to ask Tim (owner and founder of WildmanT) some questions:
What was the inspiration behind the jock?
"Skimpy" that is the inspiration. The word "Skimpy" I was showing a dear friend of mine in Palm Springs the original Jocks that I was looking to make before we even started producing anything and he said…are you going to carry anything "skimpy". He said the newer underwear and jocks are very "heavy-duty" and more rugged, but some us of still like the "less is more sexy approach" and so I made the micro jock.

Who is this designed for?
Anyone can wear it, young and old. But it definitely is for the risk taker and someone who is not shy. The fabric was intentionally designed to barely cover your "goods".

What is this jocks main purpose?
It is a sexy novelty item. It is not meant for the gym or daily use. It is meant for those special occasions, intimate nights….or strippers!

So I’m not a stripper, but I do think that would be fun, so guys if you are looking for a jock you can truly show off in, this is the one for you.

A Jock Review by a Jock

This is a test guest review by Chandler. If you guys like what he writes, let me know and he may become a full-time reviewer. Here's a bit of information about this jock boy:
This year he’ll be starting his senior year of high school in backwoods Kentucky. He does a lot of traveling, and whenever he's on vacation he likes to pick up new underwear or swimwear. At his high school he plays varsity soccer, swimming, and track, "I’m a bit of an athlete" he says. But he's also known for his sense of style, "I’m a sucker for really good underwear, and I feel its less important the price, and more important how the underwear makes you feel. I love to wear swim briefs, and whenever its swimming season, my teammates are always amazed by the new 'speedos' I wear. My friends are always asking me for advice on what to wear, so I guess I’m a little obsessive about what I wear." Well there you have it, so without further ado I give you Chandler's review.
I once read somewhere that N2N should attach a label to all their products saying "Shave your pubes" and from the very moment I put on the N2N Tropic jock I found this statement to be true, this jock is truly low-rise. N2N Bodywear has long been know for its innovative designs and use of fabrics, and this one definitely does not come up short on either. This jock is designed using slim straps and their Tropics fabric, which is part rayon and part spandex. This makes the jock very light and breathable, and allows the fabric to contour to you. It has a certain way of just gently cupping, and giving the right amount of support. This isn't your old school jock either; I am an athlete in every sense of the word I run three miles a day and play four varsity sports at my high school, so I would say I'm used to wearing a jock, although in recent years I have opted for compression shorts for support, but when its 90 degrees outside a jock seems much more comfortable. I found that the N2N was not only supportive, it was the most comfortable (and sexy) jock I have ever worn. I am a big believer that a jock is not only for sports but should also be comfortable enough to wear as regular underwear. So I found that after wearing this one for several days, and washing it nightly, that I have no complaints with anything about this jock. During the day I often forgot I was even wearing one, which I feel is a sign of great underwear. Before wearing this one I was afraid of how my jeans would feel against my bare behind, (I personally have never worn a thong, and prefer full coverage in the rear) but I actually think that was one of my favorite parts of this jock. I put the jock to the ultimate challenge by wearing it to a soccer scrimmage. Normally stuff wants to fall out, but with the N2N everything down there stayed in place. When running down the field everything held tight, and unlike jocks with wider straps the N2N didn’t constrict any leg movement. My only complaint on this jock is after several washes the straps in the back started to stretch, and caused the front to sag as well, which allowed for bunching right between the legs.

All in all this is the best jock that I've worn, it is a great value, and I have now converted from a true compression shorts follower to a faithful jock-strap wearer. Whether you are an athlete or not, this is definitely one of the most comfortable pieces of underwear you could ever add to your collection. And don't forget to shave your pubes (if you're wearing this one).

New Style from WildmanT: Micro Jock

Once again WildmanT has created a new style of men's underwear. This time it is the micro jock. It is basically like the micro pouch but with thin straps a la jockstrap style. As you can tell from the photo, this style is very skimpy and revealing. You will definitely want people to see you in them and they will have people wanting to see you out of them. They are immediately available in five different colors for $16 a piece.

DT Clothes review

DT Clothes has brought to you many fun printed drawers for quite a few years. In fact they have already had a name change (they were formerly known as DT Jocks). DT Clothes is a well established and avant-garde underwear company that in many ways is ahead of its time. For instance, they are the first and the only company to bring you fully customizable underwear in their create your own section. Recently they have redesigned their website to include a new design and new styles such as: jockstraps, x-front briefs, loose boxers (a compromise between boxer shorts and boxer briefs), lounge pants, shirts, fully customizable underwear, and even a women's line coming soon (although that will not be blogged about much here for obvious reasons). I have posted about DT Clothes many times, and finally I have the opportunity to sample their ware and review it here. So let's just jump right in.

I sampled the buzz jockstrap. Before I talk about how it felt and how it fit I just want to preface that with the fact that I have never before worn a jockstrap so I really don't have any prior experiences to compare it to. I am very jockstrap illiterate you might say, which you may find odd considering that I know so much about all other types of underwear. But everyone can learn more about things, even the experts (including underwear experts).

The jockstrap fit quite well, the straps fit on quite well and after an initial adjustment (i.e. putting it on) they did not need any re-adjusting throughout the day. I have heard people complain sometimes about the straps of a jock twisting up during the day, but these did not do that. My only complaint about the fit is that the straps were a little tight (they did stretch out a bit though after some wear), this may be that I have never worn one before, but I have noticed with other DT underwear that it fits a little small. So keep that in mind when buying, you may want to buy a size up.

The comfort was great, other than the initial getting used to a jock it was fine. It really is a nice feeling to be completely supported up front and completely free in the back. This jock also has a great feature that allows for great comfort. This feature is the fact that it has a decent sized pouch that allows for one to be flaccid or erect without pulling the straps or the pouch out of place, thus readjustments are never needed. According to Wikipedia (under the Fashion Jock section of Jockstrap), this style of pouch is known as flopper. This may be incorrect, but as I've said I'm jockstrap illiterate, so correct me if I'm wrong. The point is: the pouch not only allows for comfort while flaccid (if it only allowed for comfort while flaccid it would be called a microjock, or so I've read) but it also allows for comfort while erect. So two thumbs up on the comfort.

The style is what really sets this jockstrap apart. Most people may have the preconceived notion that jockstraps are only meant for sports. That is wrong. This truly is a fashion jock, I'm sure it would support just as well in sports as an athletic jock would, but it is really meant to be a fashion statement. The waistband is the normal width of most underwear and the leg straps are much thinner than those of athletic jocks. Also, as I previously mentioned, the pouch is large enough to be comfortable when accommodation is necessary. In fact, the way these look from the front (without seeing them from the back) they could easily be mistaken for a tanga or an athletic brief (the kind with no sides). Also, one of my favorite details of this jockstrap is a tiny logo tag on the center of the back of the waistband. This little detail really adds a lot to them, especially since the back of the waistband has a tendency (as all jockstraps have) to ride up over pants due to the fact that it is not held down in any way in the middle, and thus the logo detailing shows. DT clothes' jockstrap is really very stylish and will help bring an extra (and unexpected) punch to your underwear wardrobe.

Just like all other DT clothes underwear, this jock is of great quality and is well worth the price.

Overall, DT really gave me a great first experience wearing a jockstrap as daily underwear and it was so good that I would not hesitate to do it again.

Fraternities

I didn't join a frat when I went to college. The idea that you had to conform to a norm set by others before you who just wants to humiliate you didn't appeal to me. I did for a short moment in time, for about a week, considered joining a military academy, the Citadel of all places.

Coming across these underwear brought to mind thoughts of fraternity and what it was like to be part of a team, for me it was a Fencing team. It would have been pretty damn cool for my team to have our team badge on one of these jocks. For guys who are associated with army, navy, police, or FD, they can wear one of these proudly. The emblems and patches are somewhat generic but distinctly identifiable with their fraternity. The colors offered are quite nice. I secretly would like to be a part of the armed services just for the priviledge of wearing one. These aren't officially part of any uniform, so those of you who are secretly pinning to be in the club can play the role.


If you are just into the fashion, these CCCP logo'd ones are fab, and soon to be collectibles. ...maybe not.
