The Kat has been let out of the bag....

Flapkat is now available for purchase at Flapkat's website. Also, as an added bonus, they are offering free international shipping on your purchase, so don't let shipping charges prevent you from getting some Flapkat. In case you haven't heard about them, read the previous entries. Or else, you can read the following statement from Flapkat:

Flapkat is a new London based men’s underwear brand. Richard Houlston the designer of Flapkat Underwear decided to give a new sense of fun to the wearer using patriotic colours of the British Union flag. With flapkat being a new venture everything had to be perfect with all the styles being made to the highest standards with an amazing cut with a front pouch emphasising the male form and maximising comfort for the wearer.

The products initially comprise of four styles, two briefs and two boxer briefs. Flapkat underwear is made from high quality shape retaining cotton/lycra fabric and all have a double sided functioning fly perfect for left or right handed men. The underwear has a wide striking elastic logo waistband plus leg accent and front detail piping in red and blue.

The initial images of Flapkat include British London based model David White and a play on the words of the Flapkat name. Photo’s named “Kat got the cream”, “Kat amongst the pigeons”, and “Unleash the beast” feature in the initial product photos.

Kat Got the Cream

The above photo is an exclusive to UB. The photo, so aptly titled "Kat Got the Cream", is one of the first looks oat the new line of underwear from flapkat which will be available for purchase later this month. The model is David White who loved the flapkat underwear so much he had to take some samples home after the photo shoot. He even went on to say that he felt like he was Superman when wearing the Hex brief with the red front and back panels.

flapkat underwear will start out with two styles of double fly briefs, and two styles of boxer briefs (so four styles altogether). They are all made out of shape retaining cotton/lycra fabric so they should look and feel amazing. Later in the year flapkat will be releasing its ribbed cotton range of underwear and quick drying t-shirts perfect for the gym or beach. So stay tuned for those as well. Below is a video of the photo shoot:

The Face of Flapkat

Flapkat has finally found its face. You may remember this post where I mentioned that Flapkat was looking for guys to model their wear. They have now found their man, David White. The photo shoot took place at the beginning of this month, so more images will be released soon! The line will be available for purchase by the end of October this year. Richard, the man behind the Flapkat, wants me to tell you to sign up for their mailing list (on their home page) so you can be the first to get your hands on Flapkat underwear. Stay tuned for more news on Flapkat.

The idea behind the flapkat...

flapkat was an idea that literally came out of thin air.

Richard, creator and designer of flapkat underwear, was working at 40,000 feet for an airline traveling all over the world. He found that amongst all the other comforts essential to crew, underwear was an important one. “Cabin crew work very long hours at altitude, and the job can at times be very physical, and you need to feel comfortable”

flapkat came from Richards worldwide search for suitable underwear, “I found that only the boring styles and basic brands were comfortable, and I wanted to be comfortable and look good at the same time!”

Here was a challenge. Comfortable, and stylish.

In his spare room, Richard took things into his own hands, creating his own designs with this ‘brief’ in mind. Out of this came flapkat. “What started as a bit of fun, turned into a more of a reality for me.” Richard realized that a lot of major underwear brands that he was familiar with were international, “It was important for me to ensure that this underwear had a British angle. I am British, and I love Britain, and I wanted to show all that was great about modern Britain in the brand”. Richard’s designs are fun, sexy and unmistakably British in their appearance. The initial designs are in Red, White and Blue. They have an ergonomically designed ‘bi’ fly pouch, made of high quality cotton/lycra, and look and feel great! They come in a brief style, and a boxer brief.

You can look forward to being part of this exciting new brand later in the year.

“I can’t wait until they are available for everyone to see how great they are, what started as a small idea in my spare room has now become something I am proud of.”

So there you have it, that's how flapkat underwear was born.

New Brand: Flapkat

Earlier this month I was in contact with Richard from Flapkat. Well, anyway I should have had this entry out quite a while ago, but somehow the email about Flapkat got lost in my inbox. Anyway, even though it is late, here's the info. Flapkat is a new underwear company based in England. The new line of Flapkat will initially consist of two briefs and two boxerbriefs. All the styles will feature a Bi-fly opening (so you can come out whichever side you please), an ergonomically shaped uplifting pouch, wide flapkat logo waistband, and they will be made to the highest standards with cotton/lycra shape retaining fabric. The current release date is set for September 2007. According to the site the boxerbriefs are set to be sold for about £15 a piece and the for about £14 each. I have scoured the web and I have found some preliminary photos of the underwear by itself (shown, more if you click here). Flapkat does not yet have any models, but they are looking for them. So if you think you've got what it takes to be the face of Flapkat (and you live in the UK), click here to learn how to apply for the job. So stay tuned for more news about Flapkat.
