Your Swimwear Preferences

A while back we conducted a survey here on Men's Underwear Blog asking you what your swimwear preferences were. The results were rather interesting, but not nearly as astounding as the results for your underwear preferences. A total of 1133 of your responded to the question "What Style of Swimwear do you Prefer?". A large amount of you prefer Speedo-style swimwear (or swim briefs). In fact about 26% of you or 305 of you prefer this style. The runner-up was "the smallest thing I can find" with 22% or 255 of you choosing this option. Next up was swim trunks (the tight kind) with 17% or 203 of you preferring to rock those. Very close to swim trunks (tight) with 16% of you (that's 183 of you) preferring to wear them was boardshorts. Trailing behind boardshorts was swim trunks (loose) with 12% of you (or 147) preferring those. Trailing far behind the others with 1% (17), 1% (14), and 0% (9) respectively were "I don't swim", "I just wear my clothes", and "the largest thing I can find". So there you have it, that's how MUB readers measure up in terms of their swimwear preferences. I'm not particularly surprised by any of the results, are you?

UB Poll Results

A while back we conducted a poll here on UB asking you guys "What style of underwear do you prefer?". Ultimately 1,874 of you responded. Thongs came in first with 422 (22%) of you saying that you preferred them above all else. They were closely followed by briefs with 392 (that's 20%) of you favoring them. Boxerbriefs and bikinis trailed behind with 316 (16%) and 294 (15%) readers voting in their favor respectively. Jockstraps, trunks, and boxer shorts were barely voted for with 7%, 6%, and 5% of you favoring them respectively. Finally, 3% of you (that's 58 of you) voted for non. I just don't understand why you would prefer to wear none, but you are on this site. Can you enlighten me? And last, but not least, 1% (23) of you voted for other. Overall, I found these results quite interesting. Some things I expected (briefs, boxer shorts), some things surprised me a bit (none, trunks). So what do you think? Do these results surprise you, or did you expect the vote to be this way? Thank you to all of you who participated in this study.

New Poll

Some of you have already noticed the new poll in the sidebar. The question is 'what is your favorite style of underwear?'. I know that this poll has been in the sidebar in the past, but please answer it again because it will help in choosing some exciting new things for users. I really cannot reveal any more at this point, but trust me it will be good.

Summer Swimwear Series Poll

As a part of the summer swimwear series I have decided to poll you guys about what you guys like to wear to the beach. The poll can be found in the left-hand column below the ads. I have had polls on this blog in the past, but this poll is special because it is part of Blogger. But not just any Blogger, it's part of the new Blogger Draft. So it is a test and may have some bugs in it. But please take it and hopefully it will work fine.

Also, I am out of ideas for the Summer Swimwear Series. So if you have any questions about swimwear that you have just been dying to ask, please ask them. Or if you have other ideas, let me know about those as well.

The New Layout...

As you all have figured out by now, we have a new layout! Look above for a comparison of the before (left) and after (right). But here's the deal. I want to know what you think because I am not done yet. There are three things that I really want your opinion on:

1. Do you like the current color scheme or would you like a different one? If different, what colors?
2. Do you like the current header or would you like a graphical header instead?
3. Do you like the three-column layout or do you prefer the old layout?

Basically I want your opinion on everything regarding the new layout. So please feel free to honestly speak your mind on this. I am open to your thoughts.

Redefining the age old question

"Boxers or briefs?" That used to be the appropriate question to ask when you wanted to know about a man's underwear preferences. But now if you were to ask that question you would likely get the responses "Neither" or "Both" or "Depends on the situation". The men's underwear world has changed drastically and now "boxers or briefs?" is no longer an appropriate question because it does not encompass the wide variety that is availble out there. There are many more than two styles for men now, including: boxers, briefs, boxerbriefs, trunks, jockstraps, thongs, g-strings, and more! And within all those styles there are many different versions, not just a plain white basic. You can get them in lots of colors and with lots of rises. There's the regular (full-rise) brief, the low-rise brief, the medium-rise brief, the square cut brief, the box-cut brief, and the bikini brief. And that's just for briefs. Not to mention the fact that lots of men like many different styles of underwear for different occasions or just because they love collecting them. So it is quite clear that the age old question no longer fits. Instead when wanting to learn about a man's underwear preferences one should ask, "What styles of underwear do you wear?"

And tying in nicely with that, let's make that the question of the day, "What styles of underwear do you wear?"

Poll Results

As you may have noticed there has been a poll in the sidebar of this blog for a long time. The question is "What is your favorite style of underwear?". The results are all public but I would just like to report on what they are because they are quite interesting. I'd also like to compare them to a survey done by Freshpair . I'd like to note that my sample mainly was targeted at underwear enthusiasts while Freshpair just surveyed every average Joe. My poll showed that briefs were favored (584 votes) closely follwed by thongs (545 votes). Then in third came boxerbriefs (447). I was also surprised that 176 liked boxers and 84 prefer wearing nothing (this is an underwear site people!). Also 23 prefer other (what would that be?). Then in comparison to Freshpair's survey briefs were at the top (same as my poll) 41%, followed by boxerbriefs (27%) and trunks (14%), then boxers and then thongs were in last. I was a bit surprised that briefs were favored by far in both surveys. I was not too surprised about boxerbriefs being in second and third. I was surprised about the huge difference in thongs in both surveys. Well just goes to show, you never really know what your guy friends are wearing underneath until you ask (or they show).
