2014 Holiday Gift Guide - Men's Underwear

Still looking for a holiday gift for that special someone? Why not upgrade his drawers this holiday season? Back in the day the standard Christmas gift was socks and underwear (albeit boring, plain undies). Why not continue that tradition, but bring it into the modern era with stylish undies for your man? Here's some of our favorites that stand out this year:

aussieBum has long been one of our favorites and this year is no different. Why not get your man some updated classics with aussieBum's Lockerboy range.

Bawbags is a new favorite of ours. Their 'cool de sacs' range is perfect for the sportsman in your life who loves a good print. Also their funky patterned base layers will be sure to keep him warm this winter.

Body Aware is a great option for the man who likes to be a little sexy. Get naughty with these sexy lace briefs

Cocksox is a perennial favorite. They've made lots of new products this year, one of our favorites is their new striped sports brief

Croota is definitely an underrated Australian brand. But that doesn't mean you should shy away. They have some great undies for your man, like their new Sprinkles trunk - perfect for the body and fashion-conscious man.

Ken Wroy is a newer brand hailing from NYC that's really making a splash on the scene. We just love the variety of fun, bright prints. The fit of their briefs is superb!

Mckillop wear should definitely be mentioned. This made-to-order brand offers a great selection of sexy basics. We love the way they play with opacity in their Bespoke collection

Obviously is another great for the guy who likes comfort and is maybe a little more endowed than average. Their collection is comfy and classic. While not new, their metallic collection is worth mentioning.

Smuggling Duds is a fun brand to gift. For the guy that's jealous of all the stuff girls manage to carry in their bra, now men can do the same with these "stash pants". Check out their new super stealth range

Supawear always offers something fresh with their unique cuts and color combos. We are in love with their Diamond Dash range, great for the guy who is a little more adventurous with his wardrobe.

Teamm8 is another brand worth noting. While seemingly simple, this collection is sexy. We endorse their bolt jock

2eros has done an awesome refresh of their collection this year. Their new vivid series is absolutely superb.

Get Your Baws in These Bags - A Review

Bawbags is a fun, funky line of men's clothing and underwear.  The line has a sort of urban grunge, skater look.  It's where bold, loud prints meet tattooed skater models full of personality.  In fact, they work with pro skaters to represent them and model their gear.  The whole line just screams at you to give it some attention - and it's worthy of it.  What's a "bawbag" you might ask?  Well a "baw" is a slang Scottish term for "testicle".  So a "bawbag" would be a bag for your testicles, which is exactly what underwear is when you think about it.  And the name is very fitting since part of your purchase goes towards the worthy cause of testicular cancer research.  The line comes in boxerbriefs and boxers.  Each pair retails for £10 (about $16 USD).

For the purpose of today's review, I tried out the boxerbriefs in the blue leopard print.  Now before I start this review I want to give you a little background of where I stand on boxerbriefs and my history with them.  Usually I'm not a big fan of boxerbriefs and tend to go for trunks as they are more form fitting and flattering.  I usually find boxerbriefs to be too baggy in the crotch and too loose in the legs so that they just ride around in strange ways all day.  But that wasn't the case at all with these boxerbriefs!  These things fit like a glove in all the right ways.  Unlike most boxerbriefs, these things are form fitting through the crotch but still allow the waistband to be at your waist instead of pulled all the way up to your armpits (like some boxerbriefs make you do).  And the legs are just the right amount of tight so that they stay in place as they should and don't move around throughout the day.  They're just long enough through the leg so that you feel covered, but they're not too long that you can barely move.  These things fit snugly, but not too snug.  It's like the perfect, warm hug around your crotch and rear.  It keeps everything held in place but doesn't squeeze you to death.

These things are made of comfy cotton with 5% lyrcra for elasticity.  Unlike most boxerbriefs there are no back seams or sideseams making for perfect comfort across the rear.  The only seaming is for the front access panel.  Now I never use the fly on underwear, but the one on these is quite usable if you so choose.  The waistband is also perfectly suited to comfort.  These are just all around great undies to knock around in and do whatever.  They're comfy and will keep all your junk in place throughout the day.

Another reason I usually dislike boxerbriefs is because they all tend to be pretty basic and lacking in style, but these things SCREAM style!  While they may not be for everyone, I personally love them.  Most of Bawbags' styles are bold and in your face, so you have to be the right type of guy to want to wear these.  But if you're like me, you're gonna have a great time.  They have a knack for mixing bold colors that aren't normally put together for a fantastic effect.  I really can't get enough.  The bold waistband peeking above your pants just begs you to stop and see more.

These boxerbriefs from Bawbags are great quality.  The fabric prints are done in a unique way that isn't quite screen-printed, but doesn't show through on the other side.  The prints are implemented into the fabric in such a way that they don't inhibit the fabric from its proper movement, but they also don't wash out.  The quality of the stitching is good with no loose threads to be seen anywhere, even after repeated washings.  Even the waistband remains crisp and new-looking after almost a year of wear.  I've gotta say, I'm impressed.  And for 16 bucks these are definitely worth it.  Who knew I could like boxerbriefs so much?

MY RATING:
Overall, I give the Bawbags boxerbriefs a total score of 9 based on the following criteria:
FIT -- 10 (out of 10) - Well-fitting boxerbriefs.  Not too baggy through the crotch or leg.  Stays in place.
COMFORT -- 10 (out of 10) - Super comfy cotton.  No back or sideseams getting in the way.
STYLE -- 9 (out of 10) - Screams style!  Not for the timid.
QUALITY -- 10 (out of 10) - Well made.  Holds up great all around even after lots of washings.
VALUE -- 9 (out of 10) - Well priced; benefits testicular cancer research.
