RIPS Performance - Thai "Silk"

I've gotta say, RIPS really has something great going here with this new Thai "silk". I got a sample pair recently and they are just great, stay tuned for a review. Meanwhile, read what RIPS has to say about it:

"RIPS Performance Garments (tencel/spandex) come from exotic Bangkok and evoke sensations rarely experienced in everyday underwear. "Wicked?" Only in the sense that RIPS Performance wicks away the moisture from the sultry night or a day at the gym, leaving the wearer dry and unaffected by the heat of the situation. RIPS Performance styles are made from a microfiber Tencel® with a touch of spandex – and we guarantee you will love the luxurious feel of this soft, environmentally-friendly fabric. Tencel has a cooling effect when temperatures get hot and a warming effect when it’s cold. Tencel is a natural cellulose performance fiber that is ideal for activewear whether worn during summer OR winter. European judges awarded Tencel® the Eco-Award for an exemplary "green" effect on our planet in the manufacturing process from tree pulp to highly touchable fabric.

"We offer 6 silhouettes in silky-smooth Tencel® fabric that drape for the ultimate body-enhancing fit and the moisture-wicking breathability of a premium performance fabric. The modern styling and soft fabric creat e garments that are infused with comfort and support in superb clean lines. Tencel® fibers are arranged to create unique moisture management and absorb 130% more vapor than cotton. Our new RIPS Performance garments retain their sensational colors wash-after-wash due to the unique characteristics of the Tencel® fibers. These PERFORMANCE styles have a sensational touch and will definitely win a spot in your “favorites” – whether you save them for special occasions or wear everyday!"

So if this sounds great pick yours up at Skiviez (currently having a sale on these very items!).

Pull-in underwear launches online store!

I have long admired the pull-in underwear line. But after contacting them I found that there weren't very many easy ways to purchase their underwear online, thus I decided to not blog about it. But today I received an email informing me that they have launched an official web store. I am very excited about this development. I am hoping to get to try some soon. Pull-in underwear is a really unique and funky brand. It's really hard to describe, so take a look at their collection (there are women's underwear photos in it as well). Their online store currently only offers two different pairs of men's underwear for purchase, but I expect that they will continue adding more (they just launched today so give them some time). Check out this fun new line, and they do have a heart trunk up in time for Valentine's day. It's a little hard to tell what their underwear looks like from the photos offered on their website, but you can tell that they have lots of fun prints and waistbands. Do a Google search for more photos.

Artificial Flavor on the Today Show video

I posted earlier about how AFlavor would be featured on the Today Show. Well it happened, but it was a very brief segment (no pun intended). To view the segment click here. The segment was all about gifts to give for Valentine's Day. Scroll to about 3:58 to get to the point where AFlavor is featured. I played around to figure out to do this. A little tip is: drag the marker vaguely to the point where you want to start and then quickly double click. If you don't want to view the video, but just want to view a summary of the segment click here. It's a very nice write-up, the TV spot was a little awkward (totally the hostess' fault).

Here's the blurb on the site that's about men's underwear:
"...but nothing makes a gal melt like a man who steps up his bedroom ballgame. Help him start with his style, and select a pair of Artificial Flavor's beefed-up briefs. These undergarments were designed by a man and are as stylish as we've ever seen ($25-27.50, aflavor.com). Ginch Gonch will get you in the mood with their trendy take on tighty whities ($25.50-27; ginchgonch.com). Or, opt for Gap's (PRODUCT) RED boxers. Half the profits from these solid-colored shorts go to the Global Fund to help fight AIDS ($20, gap.com)."

Underwear Answers (UA): premier installment

Lots of people read this blog, men and women, gay and straight, there is a very wide variety of readers. Not everyone is as informed about everything underwear as others. This is meant to be an informative blog. Thus, today I have decided to launch a new segment called "Underwear Answers". I receive many questions by email about underwear etiquette and problems. Instead of just benefiting the asker I think it's a great idea for everyone to be able to read the questions and the answers. So here is the first one.

Question: "My husband is trying to find a way to tuck his shirt into boxers without them sticking out the top of his trousers... how do you get the shirt tight like if you tucked them into briefs?"
Asker: Bridget
Category: Underwear Etiquette
Answer: OK... so here's how it should go. He should not tuck in the outside layer (the shirt that everyone sees) into the underwear. If he is wearing an undershirt it is acceptable to tuck the undershirt into the underwear. Put on the undershirt first and then pull on the underwear over it. Now he can put on the overshirt and then pull on the pants over those. If there is no undershirt involved he should put on the underwear, then the shirt and then pull on the pants over the shirt (and the shirt should remain in between the pants and the underwear, NOT IN the undies).

I think this is a fun idea that could potentially help a lot of people. So send your questions my way (my email is listed in the sidebar) and I will attempt to answer them to the best of my knowledge.

User Photos and Story

These photos actually came to me a long time ago from a user who wishes to remain anonymous. I was recently clearing out my inbox and found them, and so since they were sent to me to post, I decided to post them. Here's the user's story behind these photos and him in general. If you would like to share your underwear photos on the blog feel free to send them to my email. Also if you want to view the full-size version of these photos, just click on them.

"The first photo shows the sheer thong I got from www.barelywear.com. It has very a smooth and fine fabric unlike other sheer (especially 100% nylon) underwears [sic].

"I was in Joe Snyder's bikini in the second photo. It has a nice cut at the back, and the material (spandex) offers all the support I needed.

"The [third] photo [posted below] is a pair of woman's thong strictly speaking, but I actually preferred this photo as it added a touch of femininity to the pair of rugged jeans. I named the photo 'Guns and Roses'.

"I used to hate wearing underwear when I was young. I just don't like the old white grandpa-style briefs my parents got for me, so I used to take them off when I came back from school.

"Finally, my parents stopped buying underwear for me, so I had the freedom to explore many options - I moved from white to blue and black, then more daring colors like red and bright yellow. In terms of style, I moved from bikini to mini/tanga, and tried a couple of thongs. I have also tried materials from cotton to lycra, nylon to spandex. It's all about experimenting - why do people spend hundreds of dollars on clothes to show to others, but paid just the bare minimum to get the same old boring underwear?"

Great story and photos. Thanks so much for sharing. If you'd like to see your photos on this blog just send them my way.
