Reactions to Andrew Christian Underwear

Love it or hate it Andrew Christian underwear has made a big splash in the men's underwear world since it's inception in 2001. The brand has evolved from a small indy brand out of Hollywood to a multi-million dollar global company. So obviously they're doing something right. With this evolution, so too have the styles that Andrew Christian offers - every season they get bolder and more out there, targeting a mostly gay audience. So it begs the question, what do straight men think of Andrew Christian underwear? Would they wear it? This video finds the answer.

Fruit of the Loom Debuts New Commercial

Major underwear manufacturer Fruit of the Loom (FTL) has debuted a new, mainstream commercial featuring their new "no-ride-up" boxerbriefs. While I don't know about the quality of these undies (I have a feeling they still have that bargain brand feel), I do like the quality of the commercial. What a fun concept, and they really took it there with all the puns. I also appreciate that FTL is finally letting guys run around in their undies (instead of those damn fruit costumes) to market their product.

Discussing Skimpy Undies with Davey Wavey

Today YouTube celebrity Davey Wavey discusses undies. Specifically the difference between thongs and jockstraps and his personal preferences.  The video features Davey and his guest Stuart, an underwear model at Dead Good Undies.  Stuart prefers thongs while Davey prefers a jock.  So they decide to switch it up and go for a day on the town in the other one's "pants".  Check out their reasons for their preferences and their findings in this fun video above.  Also there's just some really fun, sexy undies featured in the video.

Disclaimer: no one gets nearly naked or sexy enough.  But the video is still fun! 

Fruit of the Loom Ad: Rings

Just saw this Fruit of the Loom ad on TV and I have to say I'm unimpressed. Now it's not just because I'm biased against boxers (which I am). Seriously I didn't even know what they were selling. The guy has a great body, but these boxers aren't remotely flattering on him. In fact I didn't even know what they were selling and I certainly didn't realize they were his undies. And now that I realize what they're selling, I certainly don't want it.  Do guys actually wear stuff that looks this bad on them and want to look this way?

Video: Straight Boy Underwear Crisis

Do you know someone who is having a "straight boy underwear crisis"? You know, where all the guy wears is baggy, worn-out undies that are not flattering or sexy and should've been thrown out years ago. It might be time for an upgrade or intervention. If this sounds familiar, watch this video and then help upgrade your friend to something better. As Davey Wavey tells us, "Wearing a sexy pair of underwear totally adds pep to your step and gives you a sparkle in your eyes", and I couldn't say it better.  Your friend may be reluctant at first to trying something sexy, but he'll love the result.  He doesn't have to try a thong, just something that fits and is flattering (and isn't falling to pieces).

Debut Video from FU e=fu8

Check out the debut promotional video "Banished from Eden" by FU e=fu8.  This video is a little on the artsy/edgy side as far as underwear videos go.  I'm not really quite sure what is going on or what they are trying to portray.  But there sure is some good eye candy.  So enjoy!

This Halloween season, Andrew Christian is bringing you a hot new video series featuring the 7 Deadly Sins, and what else? Andrew Christian underwear.  The first of the series Wrath came out yesterday (watch below).  They will be launching the videos throughout the month with the next one due out later today.  So keep watching.

Michael Kors Launching New Men's Underwear Collection Soon

It seems that everyone who is anyone in fashion has to have an underwear at some point, it's like the sign that you've arrived.  Kind of like how it seems that ever celebrity and their mother has to launch a fragrance line.  Anyway, top American fashion designer Michael Kors, known mostly for his women's handbags, shoes, and of course his prominent role as judge on Project Runway, is now branching into the men's underwear world.  The collection is very basic and consists of briefs, boxer briefs, and boxer shorts as well as an assortment of different undershirts.  All the styles come in three colors: black, white, and powder blue.  Nothing very original or outside the box.  It seems that Kors is aiming to get in with the other department store staples like Calvin Klein, Hilfiger, and more recently 2(x)ist.  The question is will he be able to do it?  His new collection is very basic and far from innovative in my opinion.  I feel that the type of man he's marketing towards won't be so willing to branch out and try a new brand -- the guy who I think would buy his brand is certainly not an underwear connoisseur and thus probably has his brand that he sticks with year after year.  If I was in the market for basic underwear I certainly would branch out and try a brand new brand.  It will be interesting to see how Michael Kors fares against more established brands in the same category like Calvin Klein.  The line also comes in two and three packs, which gives you an idea of the target market.  The new collection is available for pre-order or Kors website for between $26 - $34.  It should be available in department stores like Nordstrom, Macy's and Bloomingdale's soon.  Below is a teaser commercial for the new line.

Project Runway Undies

Ever wonder what your favorite Project Runway hosts have on underneath?  Well then this is the perfect video for you, in it the crew discusses what they wear underneath.  Michael Kors says he wears boxerbriefs... black ones apparently.  While Tim Gunn on the other hand can't make boxerbriefs work saying they ride up too much.  Gunn prefers to go with the classic brief.  Heidi keeps plugging the virtue of tight speedos on men, does this say anything about her husband Seal? 

So Sly... New Brand

Have you heard of Sly yet?  We have.  We discovered Sly a few months back when founder Dan Murray shot us an email.  And I must say, we've fallen in love with the brand (and his accent).

At just 20 years of age, Australian Dan Murray founded Sly (he founded it 3 years ago when he was 17).  This is partially why we love Sly so much, because we here at MUB are all around his age and thus can relate to all that he's going through to start his new brand.  While hailing from Australia, Sly has already expanded its presence into the South African, New Zealand, and American markets.

Sly's style is edgy with a bit of urban flair.  The line is based around boxerbriefs, and we always do love good boxerbriefs.  And what's more, he's hoping to fill a niche with his brand between the super high-end undies and the low-end.  He's offering high-end style at affordable prices.  And we must say we love this!

There are two different cuts, long boxers and short boxers and lots of different styles.  And as is becoming common place, the styles include a pocket on the leg that is useful as a condom pocket.

Chord Overstreet Drops Trou on Ellen

This story is a little old, but still worth mentioning.  Earlier this year Glee star Chord Overstreet appeared on Ellen.  While discussing his shirtless scenes in Glee, Chord ends up dropping his pants to reveal the Ellen brand undies he's wearing underneath.  They're bright yellow and he got them at the Super Bowl.  Across the back they read "Ellen's got my tight end covered".  Clever.  If you want to see the clip of the interview you can find it below, Chord drops his pants around 2:04.  

Craig Ferguson Tucks in His Banana Republic boxerbriefs

I just wanted to share with you guys this fun(ny) video of talk show host and comedian Craig Ferguson talking about his underwear and sharing them.  He explains that he always tucks his shirt into his undies so that the shirt won't bunch up while on television.  He also mentions that it helps hide his large endowment.  He even pulls down his pants around 00:24 to reveal black Banana Republic brand boxer briefs.  

This brings up an interesting question for discussion: when you get dressed up, do you tuck your shirt into your underpants?
