Not Quite Commando, but K'Mando - New Brand

K'Mando Sport is a new brand of underwear that is being touted as the next best thing to going commando.  There are those of us who like to go commando (granted if you're one of them you're probably not reading this blog) but sometimes that's not always practical, this is where K'Mando comes in.  K'Mando is basically a sock for your cock; it covers all your bits with as little coverage as possible.  But it's a little more complicated than that.  This pouch has a padded under-collar to help keep you supported and lifted forward.  It also features an adjustable snap closure so that it fits perfectly around your junk and stays on.  This "sock" has three separate compartments to hold all your parts in place (one each for your balls and another for your shaft).  K'Mando has a seamless front for extra comfort and to prevent unsightly seams showing through your pants.  K'Mando currently comes in four colors: white, black, gray, and nude (for a more authentic commando appearance).  I have a few pairs that I've been sent to try, but I can't quite figure out how to put them on and fit everything in comfortably.  It looks like it should be really easy, but trust me it's not.  Once I figure it out though, I'll wear them for a day or two and let you know my thoughts in a review.  In the meantime, you can  get K'Mando from Skivvies and His Trunks for about $20.

New Brand: Good Devil

Just in time for Halloween we bring you Good Devil.  What's better than dressing up as a devil?  Dressing up as a Good Devil.  This fun new brand combines a little bit of naughty with a little bit of nice.  Good Devil is known for their sheer and sexy styles that leave very little to the imagination.  You can get them at Underwear Station or Undergear
Preview Bikini
This relatively new brand, already has a number of collections to choose from.  Including the preview collection, which offers a little peek at what's inside your pouch by means of slits in the front.  The fabric has a metallic shine that adds that little extra oomph.  The preview comes in bikini (shown), boxer, g-string, and jockstrap styles.

Another fun collection is the mesh print collection.  This collection, as you'd expect, is mesh.  You can either get it plain, or with fun tribal or dragon prints.  They come in red, blue, and white and an array of styles.  See model Levi Poulter strut his stuff in the mesh collection at the International Lingerie Show in the video at the end of this post.  More videos of Good Devil in action are available on Underwear Stations' YouTube channel

Propel Boxer with blue accents.
And finally, the last collection I want to talk about is the Good Devil Propel collection.  This collection is also made of mesh.  The whole collection is black mesh with red, white, or blue accents (your choice).  The colored accents are opaque and are carried out on the waistband and around the pouch (but the pouch still shows your junk).  You can get it in a brief, boxer or a thong.

The Good Devil collection is super sexy and will bring out that little devil in the best of you.  It is perfect for the bedroom, but it is comfy enough that you definitely could wear it all day.  I have had the opportunity to try out some of this great collection, and so far I'm very impressed.  It is sexy and sophisticated, with quality materials so that it does not seem tacky or vulgar.  Stay tuned for a full review.  In the meantime you can purchase Good Devil from Underwear Station or Undergear for $12 - $30 depending on the style.  And at Undergear take 20% off your purchase for being a MUB reader using coupon code 'UGOFF4'.

New Brand: Tu Felix Austria

Tu Felix Austria is an up-and-comer on the men's underwear scene. Hailing from Austria, Tu Felix Austria incorporates traditional design into their underwear and other clothing. Their underwear is inspired by traditional men's lederhosen with a two sided fly and traditional embroidered details. They come in short trunk and long trunk styles. True to their traditional nature, they only come in brown. They have a logo waistband that is partially covered in the front. In essence, they are embellished basic trunks with a slightly reworked fly.

The mission of the brand is to be contemporary, fun, fast, and real while always maintaining a link to Austrian history and tradition. I think the design of this underwear has accomplished that.

These fun undies will add that extra something to any man's wardrobe, but are simple enough that even the most basic-loving man will want to wear them.

I have had the opportunity to try out a couple pairs, so be on the lookout for my review.

All Full of Piss & Vinegar - New Brand

Today we bring you a new brand, Piss & Vinegar. The brand is a take off on the expression "full of piss and vinegar"; the brand is all about following your passion. Piss and Vinegar is the brain child of Jason Sutherland, the man who brought you Ginch Gonch in 2003 (the brand has since been sold). And he's back again to bring you more "fun-derwear".

Piss & Vinegar is more grown-up than Sutherland's past creations. The underlying message is to encourage guys to live life to its fullest and appreciate all that it has to offer. The idea is to "grab life by the balls".

The first collection that they will introduce is the "I Love..." collection which includes the "I Love Jesus" design (shown above) and the "I love girls" and "I love boys" (shown below) designs. In the words of Sutherland, "When living life with Piss & Vinegar, it doesn't matter who you love, only that you love with everything you've got."

Designs will be available at major department stores, select independent retailers, and online in briefs, boxer briefs, low-rise briefs, and jockstraps. Stay tuned for more info on this hot new brand.

Brand Profile: Bend the Rules

Bend the Rules is a Beverly Hills, California based luxury brand that specializes in making men's boxerbriefs and trunks. The brand is designed and owned by Markus Bender. Bend the Rules is all about luxury and comfort. Markus spent over a year perfecting the fabric - a special Tencel blend - so that it would have the perfect feel. This special fabric is more absorbent than cotton in addition to being breathable, antibacterial and eco-friendly. The styling of the line is very timeless with subtle details like dragons, crosses, and skulls on the leg. To me the line has an edgy, street flair while still being classy. It reminds me of the type of clothing that you might find in the Buckle. Many designs incorporate a Swarovski crystal making this the ultimate in luxury underwear. Bend the Rules boasts a large celebrity clientele, and with the attention to luxury and details it's obvious why. You can't get this underwear just anywhere. It's only available at the Bend the Rules site and upscale boutiques around the world. Bend the Rules is on the expensive side ranging from $54 (for a pair without a graphic) to $72 USD. But for the quality you are getting they are worth it. Stay tuned for a review of Bend the Rules and an interview with founder and designer Markus Bender.

Question of the Day: How much would you spend on a pair of luxury underwear? Do you have a limit even if you have unlimited purchasing power?

Brand Profile: PIPE

PIPE is fairly new on the market. It is the inspiration of designer Palachio. Having grown up in a fashionable town in South America called Medellin, Palachio was very aware of what others were wearing. After moving to the United States he was disappointed by the lack of sexy, comfortable, and well made underwear like the ones he could easily find in Medellin. In fact he had to import his personal underwear from Medellin because he just couldn't find what he wanted in the states. After 10 years of this he decided it was time to take action and create his own line of underwear called PIPE. The idea was to create a colorful, sexy, and funky collection that would stand out from the crowd.

The PIPE collection is bold and unique. I honestly haven't ever seen anything quite like it. There are 10 different designs that use bold prints to bring across an idea. Each style is named things like Wings, Graffiti, The King, Golden City, and Dragon. Each style is a concept. On the site there are photos of each style that really help clarify the concept (shown Dragon, wings, and techno). My personal favorites are King, Wings, Dragon, and Techno. I also really enjoy how Palachio has decided to use metallic screen printing on some of the styles.

PIPE makes both trunks and briefs. Different styles have different silhouettes (in other words wings is a brief style only, you cannot get a trunk version). I really like this because it means that the print is tailored to the shape of the underwear. Each pair (briefs and trunks alike) retail for $24.50 each. You can purchase them at PIPE's official website. Also, be on the lookout for a review coming soon.

Brand Profile: Bone Wear

Bone Wear is a fairly new brand that hails from South Africa. In fact, Bone Wear is the first and only international underwear label from that country. The product is locally designed by Wilco Stemmett and is also manufactured on site in South Africa.

Bone Wear underwear comes in many styles including: square boxers, athletic fit boxers, access briefs (with fly), classic briefs (without a fly), tight fit briefs, and tight fit boxers. Bone Wear incorporates bold graphic prints and fashionable cuts into their designed. And it's all topped off with a Bone Wear logo waistband. So with all the different combinations of prints and cuts there's sure to be something for everyone.

Bone Wear also makes shirts, swimwear, and sleepwear (the newest addition to their line-up) so check those out as well.

This year Bone Wear has had the honor of being the official supplier of swimwear and underwear to the 2009 Mr. South Africa Pageant.

Bone Wear is still currently working on their own online shop, but you can purchase their products at Dead Good Undies, Deal By Ethan, and Global Guys Gear. Their briefs retail between $18-$24 USD and their boxers retail for just under $30 USD at Deal By Ethan. Stay tuned for a review in the near future.

New Quake Collection from Timoteo

Timoteo brand is the brainchild of designer Timoteo Ocampo. Ocampo is based out of LA and studied at California State University. He has worked closely with Kimora Lee Simmons to make her famed Baby Phat line and now he's bringing his talents to the men's fashion world with his brand Timoteo. Timoteo has been around since 2001 and makes more than just underwear (but since underwear is the focus of this blog that is what I will mainly discuss). Timoteo also produces jeans, dress shirts, and fashion tees as well as miscellaneous accessories. There are two main collections of Timoteo underwear for men. There's the classic collection which comes in briefs, low-rise briefs, boxer briefs, and jock straps. The classic collection features bold waistbands with the Timoteo logo written in script. And then there's Timoteo's more recent collection Quake. The Quake collection is much more bold with lots of contrasting colors and two-toned text on the waistband. It is a fun and fresh collection and brings a modern twist to your under gear.

These stunning images were taken by photographer Allen Zaki and feature the latest Quake collection from Timoteo. Also, Timoteo has started an online magazine. So be sure to check that out as well. Timoteo underwear is competitively priced at between $16 - $30 USD a pair (depending on style and collection) and can be purchased at Timoteo's website and other online retailers like Jock Boy Locker.

Introducing B*Boy underwear

B*boy is a new brand of men's underwear created by William Baker. William Baker is mostly known for his 13 year career as Kylie Minogue's Creative Director and stylist, but he has also worked with the likes of All Saints, Geri Halliwell and Victoria Beckham.

B*boy offers an extensive and eclectic range of men's underwear and men's swimwear. Their underwear line includes stylish briefs (with button fly, normal fly, and no fly), boxerbriefs, jocks, and singlets. There are three lines of underwear: classix, basix, and sports. I especially like the looks of the sports line, the look is very innovative. And the swimwear line includes many different styles of swimwear as well as beach wear.

Their website is fun and fresh and includes many fun pictures of models wearing B*Boy underwear. Their underwear is a cotton/lycra mix, so they should hold up well for active lifestyles. It retails on their site for around £20 each (that's about 40 USD). I would suggest that you check out this cool new line. Remember, you heard about it here first! Stay tuned for a review soon.

Brand Alert: Schultz

Schultz is a really cool brand that I for some reason have just not gotten around to telling you about. Schultz is a jean and underwear brand. Now usually I don't talk about the other things that a brand makes, but these jeans actually are really related to underwear. Here's the deal. Schultz jeans have a special feature called a Schultz Strap. This strap holds your jeans in place no matter how low you have them on your hips, so you can show off as much or as little of your underwear as you want. In fact, the Schultz strap is designed so that you could even walk around with your fly completely open without your pants falling down. How does it work? Well, it is a strap about the width of a belt that attaches to buttons in the inside front of your jeans. You adjust the strap like you would a belt to hold the jeans in place. Still confused? Check out this video to see it in action. This really is a revolutionary concept in showing off your underwear in public. Before Schultz, most guys who wanted to show off their undies let their pants "sag" in the back, but now you can show off your undies in the front as well. In addition to the jeans, Schultz also makes fun underwear with cute slogans on the waistband such as "I Want Out", "Hands Free", and "Coming Soon". The underwear comes in brief and boxerbrief styles in fun, bold colors. If you want to see more of Schultz in action, check out their YouTube channel. Schultz is innovation in the men's fashion world and it is guaranteed to make heads turn your way. Also, Schultz is now available at DGU.

New Brand: Ed Hardy Underwear

I just received a tip from a reader via email about a new line of underwear coming soon from Ed Hardy. The new line is called Ed Hardy Lounge (i.e. loungewear). Ed Hardy is a tattoo artist who recently began a clothing line in 2002 based off his unique tattoo designs. His clothing is known for its fun tattoo-inspired graphics. The underwear line will be no different. You can check out the full collection here. The line comes in trunks and woven boxers. I personally like the way the trunks look better because the boxers look like they are quite baggy based on the photos from the site. The undies range from skulls to tigers to nudes (all shown above), so there is definitely something to please everyone. And on the site you can find drawings of all the undies to come (click on any style to view larger, then click on gallery and go to style guide). Because the line is so new you cannot actually purchase them on the site yet, but they are available for purchase if you call. I'll be sure to keep you updated on developments.

Brand Profile: Tiger Underwear

Please check out our newest advertiser TigerUnderwearStore.Com. This post is well over-due as they've actually been advertising for a bit over a month here on UB. These folks have reintroduced a retro style brief from the 1960's and 70's. Sporting blue dashes on the waistband reminiscent from old school days, these Tiger Briefs are available in either a single or double-seat, bringing back memories of the underwear many of our readers grew up wearing. With 100% cotton fabrics and a full-cut traditional fit, Tiger Briefs offer a design fashion from the past that fits in with the whole retro trend going on today. Everything about this brand is old school, including their site images. It all just adds to the whole appeal of the brand.

In addition, Tiger Underwear is currently running a contest to win an iPod Touch. All you have to do to win is create and post a video to YouTube entitle "Tiger Underwear Contest". The video should highlight your Tiger Briefs and your love of them. For more information on the contest rules, head over to their official contest page.

Brand Notice: Nation Up North

Nation Up North is a brand that has been recently brought to my attention. The brand was started Denmark in 2004 by Nanna Trier who was inspired by “The gap [she] found in [the underwear] market... to create the perfect fit, combined with first class material and attention to detail.”. Although this brand has been around since 2004, it has just recently been brought to the US. Here's how that happened:
In the summer of 2006 Eric Konz, a Las Vegas entrepreneur, wandered into a boutique shop in Madison, Wisconsin and picked up a pair of Nation Up North underwear. “I tried them on and it was the most comfortable pair of underwear I’d ever owned,” said Eric. He wasted no time contacting Nanna in Denmark and they put together a strategy for launching Nation Up North™ in the USA exclusively through the webshop.
Nation Up North has been popping up all over the place, and it continually gets bigger. They have even developed a sponsorship of UFC and WEC (World Extreme Cagefighting) fighter, Alex Karalexis. This is a brand that really does appeal to a spectrum of men. The line promises a stylish, timeless, quality product that every man can relate to and enjoy. So we'll have to see how well NUN lives up to its promises. I just sent out my sample request, so I should be getting a review up sometime in the coming months.

The line currently comes in black, red, white, and grey trunks. Although the site promises more soon. The underwear is towards the higher end of prices at $27 a pair, but if it lives up to all of its promises then it is well worth the price. To find out more about how they fulfill their promises with the product, read this page on their web site.

If you have had any experience with NUN underwear, I welcome you to share your experiences in the comments section of this post.

New Brand: IQONIQ

IQONIQ is a new Netherlands-based line of men's underwear that will be available for purchase soon. There is not much information about them yet, but hopefully they will have more coming soon. But here's a bit about what they have to say for themselves on their Myspace profile:
"IQONIQ is a new underwear company to be reckoned with. We want to provide today’s modern men with timeless, ultra comfortable & modern underwear.
With a naughty smile & manly attitude, we are reaching out to the modern men in today's demanding world.
IQONIQ stands for INDIVIDUALITY , FREESPIRITED, REALNESS
, INTEGRITY & MALE SENSUALITY. This all with a cheeky undertone.
Soft, comfortable fabrics are engineered into timeless designs.

IQONIQ will set out its own course in today's modern male underwear world. Keeping the underwear timeless, comfortable is our main goal.

We will be launching more colors, styles & designs of underwear under the IQONIQ UNDERWEAR label.
Also keep an eye open for our swim & sportswear products which we will be launching in the coming months." MORE POST AFTER PHOTO.

So now you have it. IQONIQ reminds me a bit of Calvin Klein in that they have basic colors with bright logo waistbands. So we'll see what they bring us soon. Stay tuned...

Checkpoint Underwear Update

You may remember my post about a very cool brand of underwear called Checkpoint. Well I am sorry to report that they are no more. But don't fret. It's not as bad as it sounds. What happened is that Checkpoint was approached by lawyers and informed that their name had already been trade-marked. So after much negotiating, Stephane from Checkpoint informs me that "Checkpoint underwear has become CORE-POINT". Well you can imagine what this means in terms of the product. They must completely restart from scratch in developing the elastic waistbands and the packaging. As of my last conversation with Stephane (which was in late March) the rough release is early May. I just thought you might like to know.

Artificial Flavor

Artificial Flavor is a fairly new brand. It was started by John Vitti, his brother, and a couple friends after talking and realizing that they all found current underwear options to be uncomfortable. So they decided that they would make their own. They also pledged to not have any boring underwear. The thought that men should have as much right as women to feel and look sexy, especially when their pants are taken off. They came up with a bunch of great designs all focused around the "urban beach" image. This idea translates into sophistication and comfort met with the attitude of the streets. This is a really fun and unique line in lots of great styles and colors. I'm glad that John brought up this topic with his friends and brother, otherwise we would not have this great brand. After over a year of successful selling in retail shops they are now launching into lounge-pants and hoddies which will be available on their website soon. Artificial Flavor is offering all Underwear Blog readers a 10% discount, enter code "flavor10" at checkout.

Creative Director Marcus Prato playfully shows off the Magnum design on John Vitti.
