Guest Review: S Brief

Please join me in welcoming our new guest reviewer Alex B.  Here's a bit about him in his own words.
I am a 22 year old college student, majoring in non-profit administration, who lives in Olympia, WA. I am at my last year of school and can't wait to be done. I also work for a non-profit so I don't have much time left but when I do I like to road bike and hang out. My favorite underwear is the aussieBum Cool Jock.

Today he will be reviewing the S-brief from Jameswinston.  I personally disagree with him on a few points, so look for my upcoming review of the S-brief for some point and counterpoint.  Here's Alex's review:
The timing for this review isn’t great, now that Jameswinston is telling us they are selling out, but I guess it will give you some insight into what you are missing out on, or a reminder for you to get a pair before it’s too late.

The S-brief, a new design in underwear, is super soft and looks wonderful while being worn, but lack my support in a few areas.

I’ll give you the good news first, when I first pulled these bad boys on the first thing I noticed was they didn’t hug or feel snug-- they felt almost loose, but they weren’t. They are very well fit and have a great fabric (rib 92% elastance 8%); however, they also lack elastic anywhere except the waistband. The next thing I noticed was how sexy they look on. They cover a little more then a normal brief but aren’t quite a trunk or boxerbrief. The s-brief is a whole new style and a great one at that. The red piping on mine added to it’s hotness factor. The S-brief with its plain waistband, except for an offset logo on the front and the Jameswinston Co. logo on the back, makes them look good under jeans too. These briefs are comfy and hot, but in reality they don’t last a day in my book.

Because they didn’t hug the body or have elastic around the legs, the s-brief doesn’t do much in the way of keeping your package in place. If I tried to run, skateboard, or really move at more then a walking pace I found that I would soon be “hanging out” the leg of these briefs. Trying to get your boys back in your undies without be noticed is not an easy task. The general lack of support from these is my biggest complaint. They are so soft and light that they would make a great workout brief and I wish I could wear them to the gym, but I don’t want to be readjusting every five minutes.

All in all, the S-brief is comfy and a great pair of undies for lounging around in, or great if you have a desk job. For an active lifestyle they just don’t fit the bill (or bulge). If you want something to sleep in or lay around in on Sunday mornings while still looking sexy hurry up and pick these guys up before they are all gone.

MY RATING:
Overall, I give the Jameswinston Co. S-brief a total score of 8.5 based on the following criteria:
FIT -- 7 (out of 10)
COMFORT -- 9 (out of 10)
STYLE -- 9 (out of 10)
QUALITY -- 9 (out of 10)
VALUE -- 8 (out of 10)

********** 8.5

And be on the lookout for my review of the Jameswinston S-Brief. And for those of you who are wondering, yes that is Alex B in the photos.

Uman , thank you for adding the review. We have come across this character Alex B before in his comments on Underwear fanatics s- brief review. We accept he likes the styling of this pant but his comments regarding the fit bear no reflection to the incredible reaction we have received to that aspect of the pant. In fact, he's so off his comments are shall we say...pretty mischievous at best! We actually keep an eye out for impartial comments as they are the most true reflection of people's opinions. In the case of Alex B we keep a database on each customer and we have no record of any such complaint . We are known for keeping our customers happy but in this case I can't take his comments seriously. Does the guy know if he's bought the right size? (it's 'impossible' for anyone's balls to fall out the side of this style of pant). We also cut our pants smller than most comparable sizing by other manufactures which further makes the 'baggy' accusation totally stupid! I can assure anyone interested in the S-brief (we're almost sold out sadly) that in the last three months of sales NO-ONE has raised a fit query about a 'correct' waist sized item.

Kind regards

Brian James
