Unzipped: Everyday Underwear

Hey guys! Its Chandler here. Today I'm here to talk about "Everyday Underwear." I mean the kind that is affordable and the kind that you have a drawer full of. For me I keep it simple. If you were to come up to me on most any given day and ask me what I'm wearing, there is a good chance I would say one of the following. Either the Elance bikini from Jockey, or the C9 white cotton trunks. You may ask why I stick with these two. I love the Elance because it is very thin, very small, and very comfortable. They come in a three pack which is great and can be found at most any department store. I think I normally pay $17.00 for the pack. Be on the lookout for a review for the Elance in the next few weeks. On to the C9's I love these trunks because not only do they look great, they've held their shape perfectly with a years worth of washing. Mine are white and have a wrapped waist band which gives them a great clean look. They are fly-less which to some is a downside, but you quickly get accustom to it, so it really isn't that bad. I got my trunks at Target, they come in a two pack and sell for around 9 dollars. So now that you know what I'm most often found wearing. What do you all wear? Do you change it up daily or like me do you have your regulars and save the rest for special occasions? Let me know, I always love to hear your feedback.

--By the way, for those of you who don't know what I look like, that is me in the pictures.--

New Designs from Danial Webster

Daniel Webster Design is kicking off a bunch of new products this weekend, including the racer undies (shown). The new products also feature photography by Clayton Ryan with modeling by Seattle's own Guerrilla Gogos. I'm really liking the feel of the new photography and the new underwear styles. The photography lends a very high fashion edge to these fashionable pants.

In celebration of all these exciting new features DWD will be offering $5 off any purchase made from now until Midnight on Sunday, July 13th. Just enter coupon code DWEBSTER5. Basically you will be getting your shipping costs covered by DWD.

Undertoys Reviewed

It's been a while since I last mentioned Undertoys, so if you'd like some background about the brand go back and read this post. Today I'm going to review these awesome underpants.

This brand is inspired by kids undies, but unlike similar (in terms of taking inspiration from boy's undies) brands like Ginch Gonch, Undertoys' designs are pure kid with no adult innuendo. My favorite two styles are the pinstripe and the super. The pinstripe is great because at first look it just appears to be a classy pinstriped trunk with little designs on it, but upon closer inspection you realize that each pinstripe is a road and the designs are little cars and planes driving around the city that is your underpants. And the 'super' style, well seriously, who doesn't like playing super man?

The other styles are fun, but they are a little too child-like for my personal tastes. The pinstripe is the most like ordinary underwear, but with a fun child-inspired twist. But really all of the styles are adult appropriate and are a fun way to break away from the norm.

Now the first time I tried these on I wasn't so fond of the fit because the all over graphic print made the undies very crisp, almost like they were starched. But after a few washes and wears they really got broken in (in terms of fit, the graphic print holds up well after repeated washing) and started to feel nice. I really love the softness of the waistband, there is no cutting or riding up and the tag is sewn flush to the waistband to avoid irritation. These undies are really comfy after a few washes (so just wash a couple times before wearing them, and line dry!). Now even though the tag instructs you to "wear more than three days in a row or inside out", I would suggest you just get yourself a couple pairs. They are really comfy, but you shouldn't sacrifice good hygiene for comfort. Plus, the tag is just a joke, don't take it literally.

The fit of these undies is a little different than your standard trunk/boxerbrief. The legs are a little longer than you would expect with no real legbands (just doubled over fabric). Because of the legband thing the legs do ride up when you sit down, but it is not uncomfortable and you really only notice that they ride up if you look in your pants and check. I like this approach to legbands because sometimes the elastic ones cut or are just too tight, but these are really quite comfy. These undies might not be great for active wear as the legs move around, but they are just fine for day to day wear. Another difference in fit is the pouch, it's cut a little flatter and a little bigger than most pouches. But the flatness works out because its size allows it to stretch more than other pouches.

One of my favorite feature of this line is something that you can't really tell from the photos, so I have to tell you about it because it is just that cool. On the waistband of each style is some sort of embroidered design that complements the overall style of the pant. For example, the skywars has a captain's badge, the camo one has military stars, and the invaders has a number that is the score of the game. I think this feature is so fun and the embroidery makes it very classy. Which leads me to the quality. The quality is really superb. The pouch is double lined and as I previously mentioned the design holds up well in the wash. I really can't ask for much more in the quality department.

The only thing that I'd like to see from this brand is more styles and maybe a briefs option.

Should you buy them? At around $20 a pair, I feel that you will get good value for your money. These are really great undies and something that every man wants (if only secretly) to own and to wear.

MY RATING:
Overall, I give the Undertoys trunks a total score of 9 based on the following criteria:
FIT -- 9 (out of 10)
COMFORT -- 9 (out of 10) (after washing a couple times, otherwise about a 6)
STYLE -- 10 (out of 10)
QUALITY -- 9 (out of 10)
VALUE -- 8 (out of 10)

Introducing B*Boy underwear

B*boy is a new brand of men's underwear created by William Baker. William Baker is mostly known for his 13 year career as Kylie Minogue's Creative Director and stylist, but he has also worked with the likes of All Saints, Geri Halliwell and Victoria Beckham.

B*boy offers an extensive and eclectic range of men's underwear and men's swimwear. Their underwear line includes stylish briefs (with button fly, normal fly, and no fly), boxerbriefs, jocks, and singlets. There are three lines of underwear: classix, basix, and sports. I especially like the looks of the sports line, the look is very innovative. And the swimwear line includes many different styles of swimwear as well as beach wear.

Their website is fun and fresh and includes many fun pictures of models wearing B*Boy underwear. Their underwear is a cotton/lycra mix, so they should hold up well for active lifestyles. It retails on their site for around £20 each (that's about 40 USD). I would suggest that you check out this cool new line. Remember, you heard about it here first! Stay tuned for a review soon.

Getting In Your Boxerbriefs

Hey guys, Chandler here again. Today I'm going to write a bit about boxer briefs or BBS for short. BBS have come a long way in the past few years. Once a symbol of gay culture, they have quickly come into the main stream. I'll be the first to admit I am a sucker for a good pair of BBS. It's underwear perfected in my opinion; the support of a brief, the breathability of boxers, and an unquestionable sexiness that is all their own. Who wouldn't love a pair of boxer briefs?
To find how out how boxer briefs have become so popular it is important that we start at the beginning with the basic concept behind the boxer brief. Here is a short history of the boxer brief from Wikipedia:

Boxer briefs were first sold around 1990. Prior to this time, only a few underwear manufacturers made boxer briefs, but they were actually called mid-length briefs or thigh-length briefs.

The underwear preference among many teens today is leaning toward boxer briefs, probably because of their likeness to both briefs and boxer shorts. While some may find regular briefs too restrictive others may find boxer shorts too loose. A pouch or 'over sized' pouch may be built in to add space and position the testicles forward. Boxer briefs are commonly used in sports instead of, or in addition to a jock but are common for everyday usage as well. The boxer brief design provides form-fitting coverage for the midsection from the waist to the thighs and are worn on the waist. Boxer brief designs can have either an access flap, button (snap) front, pouch, or no fly at all.
So it is easy to see why the boxer brief has become so popular, not only is it stylish, it is incredibly comfortable. With this recent rise in popularity I've got to noticing the underwear choices of my friends and the men I see out in public. Many of my friends have switched from traditional boxers to boxer briefs. I have several friends who, like me, prefer slim fit jeans. It is rather uncomfortable and impractical to wear boxers with ass hugging jeans, so like me they have switched to boxer briefs. Many of the men I see have switched too. Brands like Fruit of the Loom and Hanes are the most common that I see among the 30's crowd, but with the guys my age (16-20) we can be seen in Abercrombie and Fitch or American Eagle boxer briefs.

I suppose it would be helpful if I told you why I switched to boxer briefs. I still love my jocks, they are my favorite style to wear, but boxer briefs come in a close second. I switched from boxers to boxer briefs simply because I found that I wanted the support that I could get with a brief, but I still wanted the freedom that I got from boxers, so the boxer brief was the perfect solution. And my balls and I wouldn't have it any other way.

Jockey to sponsor Underwear Affair

Jockey International recently announced its sponsorship of City of Hope’s Underwear Affair, a 10k run/5k walk to support research for cancers below the waist. In partnership with City of Hope, a leading research and treatment center for cancer and other life-threatening diseases, Jockey hopes to raise funds and awareness for prostate, colorectal, cervical, uterine and other “below the waist” cancers.

Dressed only in their underwear, thousands of people are expected to participate in the race on August 2, 2008 in Los Angeles, CA.

Everything from shorts and t-shirts, to tank tops and Jockey undies are welcome at the event, but participants are encouraged to get creative and have some fun with their running or walking outfits. Prizes will be awarded for outstanding costumes and top fundraising efforts.
At the end of the course, all participants are invited to the EXPOsed after-party where participants can celebrate their efforts and boogie well into the night.
