New Brand + Review: Life Iz Pantz

Today I want to tell you all about a new brand called Life Iz Pantz. They've actually been around for a while but have not been mentioned here before. And I've got to say, they are definitely worth a mention. Their styles have been popping up all over the internet and I'm sure many of you have seen them before, in fact a few of you have sent me photos asking where you could get the undies. Well now you know.

Life Iz Pantz is a fun line of knit men's underwear that comes in a variety of colorful stripe patterns. They can be worn as underwear, beachwear, clubwear, or just about anywhere (depending on your comfort level). Pantz come in 13 different color patterns and one size (more on that later).

Now for the review. When the pantz arrive they are fairly small, the idea is that they will stretch out to fit the wearer. Life iz Pantz recommends them for those with a 33" waist and smaller. I am a 28" waist and they fit me just beautiful. Based on the way they stretch, I agree that they should be fine up to a 33" waist. I would guess that if you are between a 26" - 33" waist you can fit into these (so basically xs, s, and m). That being said, they are a little tight when you first put them on, you have to wear them a bit until they fit comfortably. And I would guess the more you need them to stretch, the longer you need to wear them. They hold their shape very well after washing, therefore you need to stretch them out a bit everytime you wear them. Once stretched, they fit quite nicely. I've also got to give them props for making a one-size garment fit so well for many sizes - the fabric is truly innovative.

When you first look at the pantz there is apparently no difference between the front and the back, and the tagless design doesn't help out much. But there actually is a slight difference in the weave in the front and the back and upon close inspection there is a clear "pouch" in the front (see image on right). That said, you should be able to tell if you put them on the wrong way (try both ways and see which is more comfortable if you still can't tell). The cut is really nice. There is very little fabric between the legs (under the legs) which allows for a comfortable fit no matter how large your thighs might be. This also makes for a very cool choice for summer wear. The leg and waistband do cut a little bit at the beginning of the day (but not horribly so), but once you've worn them for a couple hours you should be fine. The seamless design is also very flattering to all sorts of wearers.

The styling on these is creative and unique. I haven't seen anything like these before. The horizontal stripes are of varying widths to draw the eye to all the right places and enhance the overall appearance of the wearer. Granted, some of the color combinations are not very attractive, but for the most part I like the colors - and they have enough that you're sure to find something to suit your personal tastes. I have had my pantz for quite a while now and they are holding up very well after multiple washes with absolutely no signs of wear. The colors are just as vivid as they were when I first got the pantz.

They are a little pricey at just under $40 USD, but that includes all taxes and shipping costs. And for such a unique and versatile pair of undies, they are worth it. They should last you a long time and get you a lot of attention (should you choose to wear them that way).

MY RATING:
Overall, I give the Life Iz Pantz Pants a total score of 8 based on the following criteria:
FIT -- 10 (out of 10)
COMFORT -- 7 (out of 10) - I wish they were comfortable right away
STYLE -- 10 (out of 10)
QUALITY -- 10 (out of 10)
VALUE -- 7 (out of 10)

********** 8

I liked your review of Life Iz Pantz. These remind me of women’s panty hose. Women's hosiery uses 4 way stretch weft knit fabric and a "volume" measurement so that a short fat lady and tall skinny lady would where the same size. Pantyhose have a seam up the front and back and these look like the seam on Life Iz Pantz is on the sides. If there’s no side seams than it’s knit on a larger circular machine but it would be much easier to source and less expensive if it was side seamed and used the traditional ladies hosiery machines. Since women aren’t wearing panty hose, these knitting machines are idle everywhere – primarily in developed countries like the US and UK.
