Brand Profile: Hunk²

Hunk² (Hunk Squared) is a relatively new brand specializing in quality, masculine underwear for the modern man. Designed in the US, Hunk² is manufactured in South America, using top-quality South American fabrics. This makes them one of few US brands not manufactured in Asia.

What we really love about Hunk² is the attention to detail. All of their designs feature metal pieces on the lace ends (if applicable) and metal logo emblems. This really heightens the overall feel of luxury and is very on-trend with men's fashion. Hunk² puts us in mind of luxury European brands, with the quality of the fabrics used and the attention to design details. The fabrics are thin and body forming, but they don't feel cheap. The designs are truly unique, you won't find them anywhere else.

Hunk² comes in several different styles including trunks (they call them briefs), thongs, and jocks. They also have a line of bathing suits. Hunk² ships internationally and offers free shipping in the US on orders of $50 or more.

We've had the opportunity to try some products from the line, so stay tuned for our upcoming review.

The New Face of N2N - Bo Roberts

N2N Bodywear has just launched their new Spring/Summer 2014 collection with a new face for the brand - Bo Roberts, shot here by photographer Gabriel Goldberg.

This hunky midwest-raised boy has the perfect body to show off all the new looks from N2N. These photos are just some of the first to be released, so we look forward to seeing a whole lot more of him soon. Bo looks great in everything from the erotic sheer skin singlet (pictured) to the luxurious onezee and really everything in between. But seriously I cannot take my eyes off Bo in the singlet, how good does he look?

What are your thoughts on Bo as the new face of N2N?

Intymen's Embossment Boxer - A Review

Today I'd like to introduce you to a new brand of underwear with a little review.  This brand is called Intymen.  Intymen is quite new and currently does not have its own e-commerce site, but you can get their stuff at many different online stores, including: International Jock, Skivvies, Wyzman, and more.  Intymen is known for their super sexy underwear.  I like their stuff because while it is quite sexy, it is never vulgar.  Today I'd like to start by giving you a little review of their Embossment Boxer in black.  I included this piece in my holiday buying guide, so I figured I should tell you what I think of it.

The fit of these boxers is like a trunk.  They are fairly low-rise, with enough fabric to cover all the essential bits in the front and the back.  The legs are a little higher than the pouch.  There are limited seams on these with one on either side of the contour pouch and a third seam in the center of the butt.  This makes for a very streamlined and clean-looking fit.  The front pouch is lightly padded for extra comfort and shape as well as to make the semi-sheer fabric opaque.

This trunk is surprisingly comfortable, especially considering that the fabric is 87% polyamide and 13% spandex.  This makes for a very light-weight fabric that feels great against the skin.  The fabric moves well with you and doesn't bunch up or get out of place due to the smart placement of the seams.  Usually I'm suspect of center rear seams as they often just make you feel like you're wearing an overly tight thong.  But this center seam works well and doesn't ride too tight.  I'm also usually not a fan of padded pouches as I feel they generally look fake and feel stiff.  But this pouch is actually surprisingly comfortable and only enhances slightly making your bulge look its best but still look believable.

The style of these undies is refined and subtle.  The fabric has a very subtle pattern of stripes and flowers that are semi-sheer.  But the tone on tone design only shows when the light hits it right or when it is super stretched out (say if you bend over or something).  The design of the fabric is a nice, luxurious touch.  They feel super sexy without showing it all.  And as I explained, the lightly padded contour pouch ensures that your front assets will remain covered no matter how much they stretch things out.  The waistband is also very subtle with a tone-on-tone "Intymen" logo repeating around the top.  The only real flashy thing about these is a small foil Intymen logo on the left hip.  In addition to black, these undies also come in white and grey.

These trunks from Intymen are excellent quality.  Often lightweight fabric like this can get "pilly" or gross looking after a number of washings.  But these undies hold their own in the washer.  Make sure you line dry them though.  These undies are super sexy without being vulgar and you can get them at a price that won't break the bank.  My only real complaint about these undies is that the padded pouch prevents them from being folded easily for storage.  Their suggested retail price is $25, but they are sold at a number of places for less.  But at $25 for the pair, they are definitely a worthwhile investment as they'll last you well.  Intymen does not actually have an online store at this time so you have to rely on other retailers to get their goods.  Wyzman sells the Embossment Boxer for $24.99.  Skivvies is currently offering the best deal with 25% off making these undies only $18.75.

MY RATING:
Overall, I give the Intymen Embossment Boxer a total score of 9 based on the following criteria:
FIT -- 9 (out of 10) - Sexy and small.  Minimal coverage while still being a boxer.
COMFORT -- 9 (out of 10) - Lightweight fabric that moves with you.  Well-placed seams for comfort.  Padded pouch.
STYLE -- 9 (out of 10) - Sexy but subtle - refined.
QUALITY -- 9 (out of 10) - Good quality.  Will last well.
VALUE -- 9 (out of 10) - Good price for sexy underwear.

James Tudor - A Review

James Tudor underwear puts the "sex" in "sexy". This stuff is hot and I mean it! The line is simple and clean and puts a lot of emphasis on your package with what I like to call easy-access flies. These range from fall-front button flies, to lace-up and magnetic ones, and everything in between. The collection comes in bold, solid colors with contrasting waistbands, legbands and accent stitching. For the purpose of this review I tried out the fall-front boxer in black.

Although they are called boxers, they fit more like trunks. The bottom of the legs hits just below the pouch. They fit like a glove and stay in place all day. They are super soft and comfy and I never get sick of wearing them. The trunks fit especially snugly along the perineum and pouch to make for a super sexy, fitted look.

Speaking of sexy, these undies really are all about the style. They first capture your attention with a bold logo waistband with the company name James Tudor in bold, centered lettering. They are called fall-front boxers for a reason. They have two rows of three functional buttons on either side of the pouch which can be undone to allow the pouch to fall open. Think bum-flap on old unionsuits, only a lot sexier. Underneath is a hole, much like those found in underwear with a built-in c-ring. The only difference is you are only meant to put your junk through this hole when you want to use it, not all the time. Although functional, the fall front is far from practical. It's a lot easier to just go over the top. The thing about the fall front is it can be really fun and sexy for more intimate uses (trust me, it has been used for such purposes every single time I've worn these undies). And that's how these undies put the "sex" in "sexy".

The attention to detail on these is superb. The buttons on the pouch are branded with the James Tudor logo. Even the contrast piping on the pouch continues below when you let it fall. There is contrast piping on the back to help accentuate your rear features.

These undies are where it's at for the guy who has style. But they will set you back about $36 USD a pair. Are they worth it? If you have the money, I'd definitely recommend them. They are a fun way to spice things up and they will keep you looking stylish and sexy as well as comfy.

MY RATING:
Overall, I give the James Tudor Fall-Front Boxer a total score of 8.5 based on the following criteria:
FIT -- 9 (out of 10) - Fit's like a glove. Very snug.
COMFORT -- 9 (out of 10) - Good all-day comfort
STYLE -- 10 (out of 10) - They but the "sex" in "sexy"
QUALITY -- 9 (out of 10) - Hold up well after repeated washings
VALUE -- 6 (out of 10) - Quite expensive for something so basic, but they are very sexy.

Review: Kiniki Mesh Tanga

Kiniki is a brand that was founded in 1976. Their goal is to supply style-conscious men with high quality underwear that is not readily available elsewhere. In 1996 they were one of the first suppliers to go online with men's underwear. Their styles have gotten smaller as time has progressed and they are known for being a good source of sexy underwear for men. All their underwear is designed, manufactured, and dispatched in Staffordshire, England.

Although Kiniki does make more basic, traditional underwear, I decided to review one of their more sexy numbers as I've never really reviewed this type of underwear before. So today I will give you my thoughts on the Kiniki mesh tanga. I just want to start out this review by saying that I'm generally not into this kind of garment. When I first received the mesh tanga from Kiniki I was a little skeptical; in fact, I wasn't even sure I was going to try it on. There was nothing wrong with it, I just didn't feel like mesh was my thing; I'm not into super sexy underwear. But Kiniki has made me a convert!

I had the general misconception that mesh underwear would be uncomfortable and itchy and that all the strings would dig into me and leave red marks (as is the case with the waistbands of cheap underwear brands like Fruit of the Loom or Hanes). But that is not the case at all. On the contrary, this tanga is incredibly comfortable. The mesh has just the right amount of give so that it conforms perfectly to the body while still giving you enough support in all the right areas.

It is clear that lots of thought went into the style of these undies. The waistband is just substantial enough to give it a masculine feel while still being thin enough so that it is sleek and sexy. As with all tangas there are no sides. The design is kind of like that of a thong but with a full back instead of a string; there is a pouch in the front and just waistband connecting the pouch to the back. The mesh fabric is designed so that it allows your assets to be seen while still having the appearance of being covered. My only complaint about the styling on these is that there is a fairly large, white tag on the rear of these that is visible through the mesh when worn. It feels as if it was just put on as an after-thought. In fact, Kiniki removed the tag for the purposes of doing their photoshoot (so it is not visible in the photos). But that's not really a big deal because it can easily be cut out. It doesn't itch, but it just looks bad.

In addition to being sexy these undies are perfect to wear during the heat. They are supportive enough so that they can be worn as everyday wear (plus you'll drive your partner mad having them know that you're wearing this underneath all day). The tanga design in general is a good summer choice because it allows for ventilation while still giving support. But the mesh version is even better because it's almost like you're wearing nothing, which is perfect on those hot sticky days. I took mine for a test run on one such day and I experienced none of the sticking that usually results from wearing underwear on hot days.

The fit on these is excellent. As I already mentioned the fabric conforms perfectly to your body. The only issue is that the pouch is a little on the small side so it can really only accomodate your flaccid member. Which may be a bit of a problem when things heat up later, but then again when it gets to that these probably won't be staying on much longer anyway.

So here's what I've learned: sexy underwear is for everyone and does not just have to be worn in the bedroom; it can make excellent everyday wear as well. So go out there and try on a Kiniki mesh tanga, I think you'll be pleasantly surprised. And if you need any more convincing, they're currently on sale for a about $11 USD. What a steal!

MY RATING:
Overall, I give the Kiniki Mesh Tanga a total score of 9 based on the following criteria:
FIT -- 9 (out of 10) - the pouch should be slightly bigger
COMFORT -- 9 (out of 10) - again the pouch
STYLE -- 8 (out of 10) - only because of the tag
QUALITY -- 10 (out of 10)
VALUE -- 10 (out of 10)

Question of the Day: What do you think about wearing sexy underwear? Would/do you wear it as everyday wear?
