Review: Stonemen

You may remember a while back I informed you about Stonemen, a relatively new line based out of Australia. They currently have 4 fun colors and 3 fun prints (for a total of 7 fun pants) available in a hipster brief style. You may also have noticed that Stonemen has also been an advertiser on MUB for a few months now. They also have some boxerbriefs and new styles arriving in the next few months. Today I'm here to give you a review of their fun pants (my trial is based on the forest briefs - shown).

Honestly the first thing you notice about these things is the style, they are just so fun and funky! The prints are very fun while still being mature (something that adults wouldn't be embarrassed to wear and show off). The cut of these is really unique, I honestly feel like they are trunks the way they cover, but the folks at Stonemen assure me they are briefs (a sort of hipster brief). And upon closer inspection, they do have a brief cut (in terms of the way the crotch is put together and the lack of legs) but they have trunk coverage. So they're a bit of a square-cut brief. And seriously who can resist having fun forest or horse patterns in their pants? The attention to detail on these is amazing with the Stonemen logo on the waistband off-center on the front and centered in the back lending a clean and refined look to the band. The waistband is substantial, but soft, and is not going to go anywhere (unless you want it to).

The fit of these things is very interesting. They hug everything well but they don't feel too tight, in fact they feel pretty loose even though they're not. This makes for a very comfortable, relaxed feel while wearing these. Also, the legbands on these are quite large (thick) as far as legbands go, but amazingly they are quite comfortable and do not restrict movement as is often the case with large legbands. In fact, the combination of the large legbands and the waistband hold these briefs in place throughout an active day without much movement making adjustments unnecessary.

The cut is very interesting and unique with a signature pouch that accentuates all the important areas. This design also allows for a seamless back which makes for further comfort throughout the day. These are very well made briefs and last well after repeated washes. The screen print so far has not faded at all even after repeated washes and line drys.

At $35 AUD (around $20 USD) these are well worth the money and are definitely a great addition to any man's drawer.

Also, be on the look-out for an exclusive Stonemen give-away coming later today!

MY RATING:
Overall, I give the Stonemen briefs a total score of 9.5 based on the following criteria:
FIT -- 9 (out of 10)
COMFORT -- 10 (out of 10)
STYLE -- 10 (out of 10)
QUALITY -- 10 (out of 10)
VALUE -- 9 (out of 10)

********** 9.5
