aussie on my Bum (a review)

I think I have found a new favorite brand of swimwear! This week I got a few things from aussieBum and one of them happened to be a pair of swim briefs called Origin. I'm pretty picky when it comes to the swimsuits I wear for the swim team, I want a suit that is of good quality, one that has a thick fabric, one with a great design, one with a good amount of coverage, and one that will hold up to the crazy amounts of chlorine in my school's pool. Let me tell you, this suit was a winner in every category.

Since I'm swimming at a public pool I like for the suit to...well, not give an exact outline of everything I'm packing. So I was pleased to see how thick the suit and its lining is. Where I would normally have to wear a suit underneath my "speedo" to conceal my junk, I don't have to worry about that on this one, I just put this puppy on and dive in. The Origin is made of 72% Nylon, 28% Lycra and has a rear lining to boot.

I found the design of the Origin to be downright amazing. I love a square cut suit with a low-rise, and that is pretty much the perfect description for this one. The design is impeccable, my suit came in the perfect chocolaty brown and has the aussieBum logo plastered to the back, 'cause who doesn't want a little advertising.

The pool at my school may have more chlorine in it than it does water. It's crazy, you'll go in wearing a blue suit and come out wearing a white one, I had a friend who's suit was originally green and by the end of practice it was a nasty yellow. That's not the case with the aussieBum, not only did it keep its color, but it held its shape and size like no suit I've ever had.

I love the feel of swimwear, the rush of the water flowing past almost every inch of skin, and just having the smallest area covered is a pretty crazing feeling. The origin well exceeded my expectations for comfort. I figured it would be like all my other suits, hard and stiff, yet this one is both soft and stretchy. And the best part is it feels as if I'm simply wearing a pair of underwear.

The Origin can be found on aussieBum's website. It sells for $35.96 (us.) Besides brown it also comes in black, indigo, blue and white.

I've worn a lot of suits over the years, and I can say for sure this is the best one I've ever had. My only complaint with the suit is... I wish I had gotten one a long time ago. So guys, whether you are a competitive swimmer like me or just the average beach goer, give the Origin from aussieBum a try, I know you won't be disappointed.

MY RATING: Overall, I give the aussieBum Origin a total score of 10 based on the following criteria:
COMFORT -- 10 (out of 10)
PRICE -- 10 (out of 10)
WEARABILITY -- 11 (out of 10)
DURABILITY -- 10 (out of 10)

I don't think it's appropriate to discuss underwear on the interweb.

Not at all appropriate, no.

Sorry Mrs. Mags - but what are you even doing on an underwear blog if you think the subject inappropriate? It seems a little odd that you would even be interested in posting a comment!

Umm. No one has to visit an underwear blog if they don't want to. I post tons of bras on my blog. I love bras and so do others. No one complains about bras... why complain about men's underwear. Equal time for me, I say!

LOL!

Anyway.. I found you through fuelmyblog.

You signed up at fuelmyblog probably hoping for increased traffic to your site. Well...

Fuelmyblog is having a voting competition in October. The top 100 vote getters win a t-shirt and the top vote getter wins $500.

I've fueled (voted for) you because in some way, your site/blog stood out for me. Being on the top 100 page also will gain traffic to your site, so please do go check it out! It's worth a few minutes of your time.

I was just wondering,
how did you do before?
Did you have to use a suit underneath your speedo brief or over it? But why, isn't speedos enough for a swimmer? :)

By far the best swimwear in my experience is Sauvage. They have the coolest sexiest square cut styles available from their website www.sauvagewear.com and they ship world wide. They also do briefs and board shorts but the square cut are the best. Made of Italian nylon, they are fully lined and seamless in the front. Classic strips on the sides, they have lots of colours to choose from. They are a little revealing which is better than concealing I think and are unbelievably comfortable. I love em!

I recently bought the TuffAZ Ice swim brief from aussieBum, and really like it. The Ice color is light, but not at all sheer, which is great for using as a lap suit at my university's pool. The material is a little heavy, which is great if you are looking for a little drag in a training suit. Finally, the cut is low but not uncomfortably so.
