Guest Post: How My Obsession Started

Today I'm pleased to introduce to you a new guest poster Matty.  You may be familiar with his Twitter @techiematty.  Matty is a 20 year old, gay college boy who's super into his undies!  He's always posting photos of him in his undies on his Twitpic, so many in fact that his account got suspended yesterday :(  Anyway, today he is guest posting about his obsession and how it got started.  If you like what you see/read he may become a permanent member of the site, so please let us know what you think! 

Hey fellow underwear lovers!!! My name is Matty and I would love to tell you about my obsession with undies! It all started in the locker room in high school. Back then I wore tighty whities and I would be the first one in there to change. But funny thing was, I was always the last one to leave that locker room. I loved looking around at all the undies that the other boys had on. I wanted a choice of colors in the mornings, not just my white undies. Once I finally started working and having money, my underwear obsession began!

I first started getting American Eagle trunks since the other boys would wear those. I got so many fun colors and I loved the simple fit of them. Then my freshman year of college and I finally lived away from home. I could buy all the undies I wanted online! I started getting Ausssiebum, Andrew Christian, C-in2, 2(x)ist and so many others. I am now in my sophomore year in college. I am only 20 and I already have a giant drawer filled with underwear! 

Trunks, briefs and jocks are all I have so far. As the year goes on I plan on trying all different kinds of undies. I love to show off my undies every day on twitter. I just take a picture of them right after I get out of the shower! So be sure to follow my twitter (@techiematty). I'm just a little twink who loves his undies.

New from American Eagle

It's official, briefs are back at American Eagle. A couple weeks back it came to my attention that most of the men's underwear at American Eagle was on clearance for 4.95, that got me to thinking that they must have something new up their sleeve as they never have all of it on clearance. My hunch was correct. AE just reintroduced their brief in 7 solid colors, a couple striped patterns, eagle design and camo. Along with the new style, AE has also redesigned the waistband on all their fitted men's underwear (i.e. briefs, boxerbriefs, trunks, etc.). The new band is thicker with a bigger and bolder logo - in keeping with the current waistband trend in men's underwear. This new band first came to my attention when it was seen in a promotional photo on the site a couple weeks ago (peeking above some boardshorts; image shown). The price point has stayed the same on the new undies ($12.50 each or 2 for $20), which is a steal when compared to other fashion-foward underwear. All the new underwear is currently available online and will be available in stores sometime next week.

AE Long Johns on deep discount!

It's still winter and it is just starting to get really cold for those of us who have winter weather. So if you're like me and live where there is snow, you definitely will need to get out the old long johns at least a couple days this season. American Eagle has their long johns on sale for $9.95 (marked down from $19.50), so that's a great deal. But you need to act quickly because they are selling fast. When I was first planning on writing this post they had blue, red, grey, and camo (and that was just a couple days ago). Now they only have red and camo. The red and the camo are available, as of the time of this post, in xsmall/small and x-large/xxlarge. So go check it out now. And stay warm!

American Eagle discontinuing knit underwear?

I recently visited the American Eagle Outfitters site and I noticed that for the first time ever they have knit basics underwear (boxerbriefs and trunk briefs) on sale in the clearance section. I checked the regular section and noticed that all these products have been removed and are only availble in the clearance section. From this I gather that AE is probably discontinuing these styles. I am not sure, but I am guessing that all knit basics are also on sale in stores. However, they may be doing something similar to what Abercrombie did last year. But we have no way of knowing for sure. So if you have been holding out on buying some American Eagle underwear, don't. Now is the time to act and buy them, I'm sure they have limited quantities. If you are a size small you are too late, they only have M-XL currently left (But the stores may have small). When you check out the clearance section online, scroll to the bottom of the page for the knit basics.
