Review: Tiger Underwear

Tiger Underwear is a line of men's and boy's briefs inspired by male underwear from the 1960s and 1970s. The line is all about the retro styling. Now I first need to point out that I was not around when these undies were popular so I have no prior experience with these retro-style briefs. Another thing that I need to point out is that there is no real equivalent to a men's small in this line. Now I normally wear a men's small so I ended up going with the Boy's size 14-16, and that seemed to work out all right.

For the purpose of this review I will be talking about Tiger double-seat boy's briefs (although I'm sure the men's double-seat briefs will be very similar). When you first take these briefs out of the package they are long and thin, but as soon as you put them on they stretch out to conform to your body. This makes for an excellent fit. My only real issue with the fit was there was a bit of gaping at the legs (but this may be because I didn't really have the correct size). These briefs have a lot more coverage than most briefs now a days, I really like that aspect of these. They are much more comfortable in the legs than most briefs because the leg bands hit a little lower down the leg and thus allow for more movement. Also, the extra padding in the double-seat design does keep the rear a little more comfortable when sitting for long periods of time.

Now for the styling, these are definitely a throw-back to the old days. In being retro they do a very good job. I really like the crisp white of the underwear and the retro double-seat and full-rise. But I do feel that the waistband is a little outdated looking. I know that it is trying to be retro, but it ends up just looking a little weird showing above the top of modern jeans. The waistband looks fine paired with retro clothing (as shown on Tiger's website), but with modern clothing it just doesn't mesh. I'd like to see a version of Tiger underwear with either a plain white waistband or a more modern logo waistband while still maintaining the rest of the retro styling.

At $25 a piece (although they are currently on sale for $20) these are a little pricey. Although for such a specialized product it is understandable. I would, however, like to see a little better quality fabric for this price. The fabric is a little thin.

Overall though, these are really cool, comfortable briefs and I'd definitely recommend that you try some out for yourself. They are probably especially fun if you remember them from your childhood.

MY RATING:
Overall, I give the Tiger Underwear Double Seat Briefs a total score of 8 based on the following criteria:
FIT -- 9 (out of 10)
COMFORT -- 10 (out of 10)
STYLE -- 8 (out of 10)
QUALITY -- 8 (out of 10)
VALUE -- 8 (out of 10)

********** 8

Thanks for the review. I think it's really good that they use boys to advertise their boys' line. The man in their adverts is nice as well.
