New Year, New Underwear

Hi all, apologies for the radio silence over the past few months as we have been dealing with some personal things. Thanks to all our loyal readers who have continued to read through our old articles, comment, like, share, etc. We greatly appreciate it.

What will you wear for NYE?

Lots of thought goes into ringing in the new year as it is thought to set the tone for the year ahead. Everything from who you spend it with to what you wear is carefully curated. But what about your underwear? That's important too. Many cultures have different traditions about what color of undies to wear for ringing in the New Year. What they all have in common, don't wear black undies.

So what will you wear? My own personal tradition is to wear something new that I haven't worn before.

Whatever you wear we hope you have a happy, healthy and safe New Year. Good bye 2015 and hello 2016!

I've been blogging for the past three years. The name Leo is a nickname and developed from ones I've had in the past, I go by Leo on most social media because I don't really like my name. I've run a personal and fashion blog for three years and recently began an underwear and swimwear appreciation blog. Clothing of every sort interests me but I think you can understand that men's suiting and underwear are the most heavenly things and get me all hot and bothered. Now I'm going to be posting here with tips, reviews and appreciation of all things underwear and swimwear.

My addiction to underwear is overwhelming at times and while I've never been bankrupt because of it, I wouldn't be surprised if one day I was. Being a really skinny guy, I prefer more fitted, sleek and revealing styles like thongs, jocks, low rise and bikini briefs not to mention everything mesh. I currently live in Edmonton, Alberta Canada and go to University as a Science student. If you have any comments or questions, feel free, they are definitely allowed.

Hey guys, let me (re)introduce myself. I’m Chandler and I’m just your average 21 year old guy who has a passion for underwear, swimwear, and all things skivvy-related. For you long-time MUB readers you may remember me from a few years ago when I was a bright-eyed 18 year old finishing up my senior year of high school. Now some time later I’m halfway through my college years, a little more experienced, and still in love with a good pair of underwear. My goal here on MUB is to keep it light-hearted, fun, and equally informative. You’ll see me doing a lot of swimwear reviews as we approach the summer months, I’ll be writing a lot of post about my experiences in the underwear world and as a thrifty college student you’ll see me doing plenty of posts about sales happening at my favorite brands. What Will You Wear Tonight?

Although your New Years resolutions may not start until tomorrow next years future may lie in what underwear you put on tonight. As one year ends and another starts we fall back to time honored traditions such as fireworks, dropping electric balls and of course a midnight kiss. However there are some customs and superstitions you may want to keep in mind as you plan your evening, in particularly what underwear you choose to wear. It may effect your coming year and even your life!

For example in Italy it is customary to wear red underwear on New Years Eve as this is supposed to bring you good luck. I have heard this is also the custom in Turkey. And in the Philippines it is customary to wear clothes with circular patterns like polka dots because it is believed these patterns attract fortune and wealth for the following year, and although this isn’t applied directly to underwear it is applicable. In many Spanish speaking countries the wearing of yellow underwear on New Years Eve is supposed to encourage financial gain in the next year. This comes from the fact that yellow is closely related to gold in color. Like in Ecuador and Peru it is believed that wearing yellow underwear on New Years Eve will attract a positive energy for the next year. And in Mexico you are advised to wear red underwear if you want to fall in love the next year, yellow underwear if you want to make a lot of money, green if your goal is prosperity, pink if you’re looking to make more friends or improve existing friendships and white to create hope for better days ahead.

So what will you wear tonight? It seems the popular choices are red and yellow for love or money. It seems like that’s what it always comes down to. Can you wear orange and get both? I may have to give it a try. Whatever you don under your trousers tonight make sure it gives you the confidence you need to have a blast! Contest Update: More Entry Options

So a few of you have expressed some concerns about the aussieBum My Favorite Day Contest entry being too complicated.  So we've added some additional entry options to make it easier for you.  We want to see as many of you winning as possible!  In addition to submitting a photo of underwear (with or without you) that demonstrates your favorite day of the week, you can also:

• Submit a photo of you in your favorite pair of underwear and tell us why it's your favorite.
• Or you can comment on a post on this site from the past three months.  Be sure to include the words "MyDay Contest Entry" at the end of your post so we know that's what you're doing.  Then send us an email with a link to your comment for it to count.  Be sure to write something thoughtful as they will be judged qualitatively, not selected randomly.  

You may still only do one entry per day, you cannot do one of each method.  Good luck. 

Contest Coming Soon

We just wanted to give you a little heads up that there will be an exciting contest this weekend. You may want to get some photos of yourself in your best gear in order. How Men's Underwear Blog got Started: Video

Here's a fun little video I made that shows how Men's Underwear Blog got started (visually.)  Basically here's how it progressed:  I first got into men's underwear, specifically boxer shorts.  Then my interests broadened to incorporated boxer briefs and briefs.  Then they expanded even further to other types of underwear.  This was five years ago.  At the same time,  I was going through a blog phase and I wanted to find a blog about all my interests.  I couldn't find one about men's underwear so I created one.  And here we are today!
