Can You See My Bum in This Gear? - A Review

Bum Gear Mesh T-shirt and Boxer.
Bum Gear is a great new brand of men's underwear. They are probably most noted for their extensive mesh line, which I am going to review today.  It comes in a variety of vibrant colors and sexy styles.  They even have matching mesh t-shirts to complete the look.  For the purpose of today's review I'm going to discuss the Bum Gear briefs in royal blue.

The fit of these briefs is quite skimpy.  The sides are high-rise, in fact there is even less side coverage on these than on the Bum Gear thongs.  These briefs also have a low-rise waist so there is not much coverage on either end.  The back is full and fitted while the pouch is large and gives you ample room to show off your junk.  Bum Gear promotes the pouch as being "HUGE", but don't worry, it's not too big that you'll be just flapping around.  It is spacious compared to most low-rise briefs, but it is tailored in such a way that you are still going to get all the support you need from it.

I'm actually quite impressed with how comfortable these things are.  They're made out of 94% polyester and 6% spandex, so they don't sound like they'd be too comfortable.  But they actually are.  Like I said, the pouch provides all the support you need and cups your manhood perfectly.  It holds you so that you look impressive, but it isn't ridiculous either.  Now because these things are made out of mesh, they keep you cool.  But don't think these are good for athletics.  While they do allow air to flow, they do not actually wick away in moisture so if you get all sweaty these are not going to be comfy.  That being said, I'm impressed with how comfortable this mesh actually is.  It is a super-fine knit so that it feels soft against your skin and isn't abrasive to the touch.

The style of these is quite out there and in your face.  With these you'll have nothing to hide, or at least you better not because they won't hide it.  Don't be fooled, just because they are tinted various colors does not mean that they are in the least bit opaque.  These briefs allow every little bit of your fleshy parts to be seen (even more so than in the pictures).  I absolutely love this about them!  They are super sexy.  These undies are great to spice up the mood in the bedroom, but they're also comfortable enough that you can wear them all day and not have to change into them before bed.  While these are the epitome of sexy, they are not vulgar, and that's why I like them.  Oftentimes so-called sexy underwear looks like you're getting ready to do a pornshoot or are about to host a fetish party.  But not these.  While they could be appropriate for those occasions, Bum Gear has managed to make mesh look really classy.  I think part of it is the wide, normal-sized, logo waistband.  These look just like your normal pair of briefs, but they've been sexed about a bit with the choice of fabric.

These briefs are really well made.  They stretch in all the right ways, but they keep their shape.  The fabric is very fine and delicate looking, but it actually holds up perfectly in the washing machine (line dry of course).  For $24 a piece, this sexy little number is worth every penny.  They are fun and comfortable to wear, they look great, and they're super sexy. While the blue that I got is currently out of stock, there are many other great colors to choose from.

MY RATING:
Overall, I give the Bum Gear Mesh Briefs a total score of 9 based on the following criteria:
FIT -- 9 (out of 10) -High-rise legs with low-rise waist make for a skimpy fit.  Special contoured pouch.
COMFORT -- 9 (out of 10) - Considering these are made of all artificial fibers, they are surprisingly comfortable and soft.
STYLE -- 9 (out of 10) - Epitome of sexy, but not vulgar.
QUALITY -- 9 (out of 10) - Looks delicate, but is actually durable.
VALUE -- 7 (out of 10) - Expensive but sexy.
**********9

BumGear stole the design of their mesh line from Pulse Underwear. Thought you might like to know that little tidbit. When I was in Portland last year, I met the owner of Pulse, and being a fan of the mesh line, we chatted about his design and such. He told me there was a company who just released his exact design....the only difference is that they are made in a factory outside of the US. If you want the same product, but to support a local US company...buy from Pulse.

You know, men's underwear is all about trends and following them. And doing cool new things that people like. If something works, why not replicate it. I will give you that the Bum Gear briefs do look similar to those made by Pulse, but there isn't a whole ton you can do differently with mesh underwear. Are they similar? Of course, they're colorful, mesh briefs. Are they the same? Not at all. The waistband is different, the cut is not quite the same. They are definitely they're own. I think it is unfair to say Bum Gear stole the idea from Pulse. They may well have been inspired by Pulse, but then again, Pulse wasn't the first to make mesh briefs either.
