HELP! My Underwear is Boring

So, I’ve been away from the world of underwear for a while, which has led to my underwear collection becoming pretty worn out and boring. It has gotten so bad that in an effort to have enough underwear to make it through the week I have even resorted to wearing Fruit of the Looms. I am embarrassed to even admit that. Now that I am back in this world of underwear I am super excited to start buying some new undies. As I rebuild my collection I ask for your help. Since most of the pairs I buy will be used for future reviews and photos I need to know what you’re into and what brands and styles you would like to know more about. I am up for wearing anything (excluding boxers) so have no fear and suggest away. In the mean time I ask that you don’t judge me in my Fruit of the Looms to harshly.

Fruit of the Looms, respect, haha! When I hear that name it almost feels nostalgic. I had a sweater of that brand when I was younger and I loved it! But I didn't knew they made underwear...don't feel embarrassed ;)
Is Fruit an alltime American brand? Because I don't know, I'm Belgian.

I would like to know more about Clever thongs, they look very handsome. I didn't got the chance to buy one. But I wrote a little article about it some months ago.
Lately I came across a brand named 2xist, I like the briefs.

Greets, Janiek

As I was reading your comment Janiek, I was thinking "where did this guy grow up?". But you answered my question. Yes I'd say Fruit of the Loom (FTL)is a very American brand. Many of us, especially from the younger generation, grew up on wearing them. That or Hanes were pretty much your two options as a kid.

Love your site by the way Janiek, keep up the good work :)

Hi I'm Kenneth and I am reaching 16 in a few more month time . I have been trying to find a best suitable underwear and boxer brief for myself so far I have been trying more than 20 over brands this are the underwear brands ( BUM , Byford , Calvin Kline , Charlie Jordan , Groovin , Giulio , jockey , levis , Punto Blanco , Raw , Renoma , Seahorse , Skinwear , Van garie , 2(x)ist ) and this are the boxer brief brands that I have wore before ( Alphagear , BUM , Byford , Calvin klien , Diesel , Everlast , Groovin , Levis , Pierre Cardin , Renoma , Seahorse , Uniclo ) but so far only brand like ( 2(x)ist , Seahorse , Skinxwear , Punto Blanco , Giulio , Groovin , Diesel , Calvin Klien , Alphagear and Renoma ) is "considered" the best . But some how I always feel unsatisfied with the current underwear and boxer brief that I am wearing now .. Can u guys please please help me on this ?? I do not know which brands should I get now because I always feels unsatisfied with the one I am wearing now .. Please comment on this without looking at my age thx alot guys !!!! :)

I would agree that Clever is a good brand. The briefs fit well, and the colors (at least on the mostly cotton pairs) are relatively stable and don’t bleed/fade. They make a few mesh pairs as well, but they’ve basically kept the same elastic band, which is unfortunate because mesh doesn’t need the same thank band that, say, mostly cotton does. Also limiting on the mesh is that it is little too stretchy, so your junk hangs sort of low in an odd way. Again, they’ve basically used mesh as they’ve used the cotton, with a result that doesn’t work for the material. But, otherwise, Clever makes great fitting underwear.

I disagree with UMan about Andrew Christian. I find the elastic on the front positioned so low that it’s hard to keep your junk inside. And, at least on the one pair I had (purple trunks from a couple years ago), there were two elastic pieces running from the elastic on either side of the back, to the bottom, sort of along the lines of a jock. It felt very uncomfortable. I felt bad about having to throw away a perfectly good, but unwearable, pair of underwear. Maybe they've changed and fit better these days?

Right now, I’m really into Gigo. They’re doing a lot of spandex with colorful prints. The fit for both the trunks and briefs is exceptional, along the lines of, but just better than, Clever. Some of the colors are just crazy (e.g. candy stripes, with hot pink elastic band). I really have no negative comments about Gigo.

I agree with the other comments about Ginch Gonch. They’ve changed a lot, and for me the change was in a direction I don’t care for. I liked the low-rise, thick elastic, fun truck prints. etc., even some of the solid prints. But the new stuff, in my opinion, is just really cheap. For example, the old way of connecting the elastic in the back of the Dump Truck line was to fold the elastic over on either end and sew the label over the elastic to hold it together. It was very sturdy. I had a later pair, where the elastic wasn’t folded over, just sort of sewn a little bit, and the sewing on the elastic provided no support. Result: seems on elastic became loose after 6 mo.

Baskit is a brand I also like. They do some interesting cuts (e.g. The “bandless” trunk with the Asian print is one of my favorites) and they also go great colors (e.g. blue with brown elastic and piping). The fits on the briefs and trunks are really good.

I like the huge selection of Aussiebum, but some of their stuff is hit or miss. For example piping on some of the 100% cotton comes loose after just a few months. On the other hand, they have some super-short boxers that I really love, including some V-day boxers I’m wearing right now featuring smiling kangaroos with erections. These are different from typical boxers!!

Anyway, just some ideas for you...

So I see UMan. For me that one sweater was like cool, but from your point of view I would react in the same way. But no worry, that sweater ended up in the garbage years ago :)

Do you know Pierre Cardin underwear? Wearing it right now, hint.

And thanks for the compliment on my blog!

Kenneth (Anonymous 1) - I'm not quite sure what you're asking...

Anonymous 2 - Good ideas. I totally agree with you on the Ginch Gonch. I'm not quite sure what you're referencing that I said about the Andrew Christian.
