According to this article at People UK "the Daniel Craig effect" has had a huge influence on sales in men's underwear. People are snapping up padded underwear so they or their men will look their best. According to David Walker-Smith, head of menswear at Selfridges in London's Oxford Street, "We've seen a 150 per cent increase in sales of men's underwear this month - and tellingly the best seller has been the package enhancing Aussiebum Patriot pant." Wow, that's quite an influence. I'm not sure how credible the source is, but it's something that I never thought about. It really is amazing how much influence celebrities have over the people who idolize them. It's really interesting how just a few images (shown) of a hunky celebrity in tight swimwear can cause such a surge in underwear purchases. It's something to think about.Sunday, February 18, 2007
